Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • Ford tough - if you dont use the aluminum bed - 2016 Ford F-150

I rented a ford truck to carry some material and dropped a toolbox by accident into the bed, puncturing a hole. I had to pay for it and it cost me over $1000. Unfortunately, this happens a lot as now I see Chevrolet is doing a test it is advertising that its steel bed holds up while Fords can no longer do the same. So you get better gas mileage in the Ford but if you make a mistake a drop a moderately heavy item in the bed, you will have a hole in the floor. Great comfort and handling for a 4 wheel drive truck. Corners very well. Steering is tight and turning radius is good for a truck this size. MPG has been 12.8 - 13.2 city, 17.2 highway. Power outlet and plenty of room in back for my son and his CD player or video games. Running boards are definitely a necessity. Have had zero problems after 1 year of owner ship.

  • finally I listened to the family - 2003 Ford F-150

Awesome, this truck is every mans dream if he wants a truck plus luxury. I have the 5,4L engine and it is very responsive and moves out fast. The ride is unmatched, I drove all models and traded a 97 dodge. The room in the back seat is unmatched, a friend is 64 and had plenty of legroom with the front seat back. My family loves it, especially the kids who now have a full window to look out and cup holders that actually hold a real drink in place. I took my new Ford to the Dodge dealer and he couldnt come close to matching luxury and price. Now I can honestly say all the men of the family own Ford trucks and will never buy anything else!

  • Great Truck with Goofy Security System - 2017 Ford F-150
    By -

I have a 2WD V-8 which was not an option in the model drop-down. I have only owned this truck for two months, so I could not comment on a lot of the questions such as repair frequency, etc. My initial impression of this truck is very positive except for one feature that is so idiotic that it is hard to believe. The design of the drivers door handle and key lock makes the 2017 F-150 extremely easy to break into. The lock cylinder is mounted on the door handle, not on the door. When you pull the door handle out to open the door, you can look behind the door handle and see the lock cylinder. To break into the truck, you just need to pull the door handle out, slip a pair of pliers behind the handle over the lock cylinder, and turn it. Doing so enables you to unlock the truck, open the door, and get in within a couple of seconds without tripping any alarms. I had a weapon stolen from my truck at a restaurant. When the police arrived, they went right to the door lock and showed me how it looked like it was off center. The police say they see this all the time with the new F-150s. How could Ford engineers come up with something so stupid? The fix is to replace the drivers handle and lock cylinder with one designed for the passenger door. This fixes this bug, but leaves you exposed to difficulties getting into the truck if your truck battery ever runs down completely. If this happens, you have to either break a window to open the hood or have the truck towed to the dealer. Wow, what a monumental goof!!!! See the Ford F-150 Forum for a discussion of this problem ( https://www.f150forum.com ).

  • Great Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

Great design inside and out. This is easily the quietest vehicle I have owned, which is a surprise for a truck. Handles heavy loads without breaking a sweat from the engine and powertrain. I also like the deeper box for carrying more loose material. The 4 wheel drive works very well, but you have to be careful when cleaning since Ford designers put several blind pockets near the wheel wells which tend to fill with mud.

  • Front Brake Problems - 2005 Ford F-150
    By -

I experienced problems when the dealership rotated my tires. They over torqued my wheels and caused warping in the rotors. From that point forward it has been a nightmare. They even suggested it was my driving! Well now in the 4th return, Ford has come up with an updated rotor. So now the truth comes out. But just before this they were going to make me pay for repairing their mistakes. I just question their honesty and integrity.

  • It is Built Ford Tough - 2004 Ford F-150

Unbelievable ride and comfort for a truck. The interior noise level is by far the quietest truck I have ever ridden in. Power is very good and the fuel economy is average for a full size truck. Would highly recommend this truck to anyone in the market for a full-size pickup.
