Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

My first and last Ford truck - 2013 Ford F-150
By chiefsss - July 16 - 11:45 am13 F-150 Crew 4X4 Eco-boost V6, all at 15K service: The rotors had to be turned due to vibration on braking. After never hitting anything that would cause the alignment to be out of spec, the alignment cost me nearly $500 (for a camber kit installation) because the factory equip. could not be adjusted to the proper correction. Driver outside door handle must be replaced - have to pull twice to open. Driver door molding/seal replaced A/C not cold in hot weather. SYNC sucks Occasional power hesitation on start from stop-sign Various rattles within the cabin Heat-recirc. turns off after 5 min in winter

I went back to my doctor in Nashville and... - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - July 4 - 2:04 pm...it went so smoothly, it was like butter, I had options for advanced technology (for the era) to use it in the truck and I just settled for listening to music on the iPod video that is vintage (almost as vintage in portable device years as the F-150 is in vehicle years) and I didnt want any more features than what the F-150 had on tap. I guess Im not a car connoisseur like I should be, because I dont want features that require monthly expenses to cellular companies. Thats really all the high-technology is, just another way for cell phone companies to get riches from you by expecting you to pay for "convenience". I can tell convenience no, you should try it too. Still so very pleased!

$1000 for a tune up - no joke - 2006 Ford F-150
By nightynight - June 11 - 2:41 amIf you are thinking about buying an 06 F-150, I highly recommend going to any auto shop and asking how much it will be for a tune up. The problem is the spark plugs break off when tried to be removed. So did Ford do a recall? Nope. They made a special tool that shops have to buy to help decrease the chances of breakage. BS!!! Does the tool work? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Half of mine broke even after they were soaked overnight. My bill? $1000!!! Very disappointed in Ford.

Chevy cant win even the family vehicle race - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - June 10 - 6:42 pmI got to look inside a neighbors 2008 Chevrolet Uplander LS and aside from having a beefy V6 engine, it seemed to be skimpy on everything else. Its like the GM engineers spent so much of their recycled design budget on giving it more power and neglecting what would make you want a van from 2006 and later-namely options like navigation, DVD playing, high-end stereo systems, even a supposedly crucial safety feature like OnStar unless you buy a $40,000+ model. My F-150 cost much less (both brand new and when we bought it) and has everything I could possibly ask for. Thats a pivotal moment to me.

Nicest truck ever made! - 2002 Ford F-150
By boostaholic1 - June 7 - 1:27 pmBought this truck after I traded in my 2008 turbocharged Mazdaspeed 3 which was also a super fun car to drive and very fast. But this lightning is just a different kind of fun, different kind of power, and completely different kind of ride that I think everyone should experience at some point in their life.

Buyer Beware of Engine Failure - 2005 Ford F-150
By james294 - June 6 - 8:14 amTruck always regularly maintained and serviced at Ford dealerships. We take care of and expect our vehicles to last. It was running perfect until it immediately began idling rough at a stop. No check engine light, we just know our truck. Took it in for a tune-up (replaced spark plugs, etc.) and oil change. Perfect bill of health - couldnt replicate problem. Long story short - towed it back to Ford - they were able to replicate the problem - oil pressure dropped suddenly - need new $7k+ engine at 68K original miles. Others having same problem, but no recall. Unreal. Plus, while under warranty - had the four wheel drive go out and other engine issues. Not Ford tough.

The next pivotal moment came and went! - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - May 30 - 2:28 pmWe had to get the F-150 emissions tested to get our tag and it sailed through the emissions test like butter after we sat there and just bought regular maintenance items (albeit several of them.) If you can have a truck, that its a full size if entry level truck, and it can blow away everything except its 1994 Ford Ranger companion (at least comparing main to second vehicles), thats proof of how tough Ford built it (unless of course you want to regularly change vehicles, but then again were incredibly risk-averse, so were not going to push a desire we dont even have.) I love this Ford F-150 and I love my Ranger and unless I have to let go of one of them I will not, and thats it!

One Awesome Truck! - 2003 Ford F-150
By tearex63 - May 27 - 9:18 amI purchased this truck in December 2012 with 54K miles on it. The truck had already been modified with an oversized blower drive pulley, tuner, cold air package & Bassani exhaust. I had the truck dyno tested and it pulled 383 HP at the rear wheels. Needless to say, this truck is WICKED fast. Random people come up to me and compliment me on how cool it is. I love the sound of the blower coming on and the fact that I can light the tires any time I feel like it. Starts and runs just like a regular truck, great exhaust tone & instant throttle response. Only bad thing is the 10 MPG around town, but what the heck, Ive got motorcycles & junky cars to drive to work.

Final Update Until Next Pivotal Moment - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - May 14 - 7:06 pmIn my previous reviews, I didnt get to emphasize how much the 2003 Ford F-150 was a good value for money, because even though a lot of wear items went bad at once, the fact that once we got them done its back to running like it was when we got it if not better, and for $6581 out the door (granted the previous owner had kept the second coded key and the key fobs, but they later got replaced) means that the truck had everything we wanted and just by taking care of it its back to taking care of us. I would like to say that if you keep a vehicle long enough, youre going to have to replace various components. If you like the vehicle well enough, you will find it worthwhile, if not, oh well.

I HATE Ford after this truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By littlejohn505 - May 14 - 2:11 pmWe bought our truck it 2005. Its an 05 with every problem Ford ever had that year. We have replace 4 window regulators in the drivers side. All ford branded. Cam Phasers, Cam, fuel injector problems, now a whole new motor because the fuel injector blue and flooded cylinder #4 that we have always had problems with. i hate this truck and the money it has cost me.
