  This truck is wonderful off road. I have taken it up steep grades and through lots of mud. You can really have a lot of fun and it handles wonderfully off road. It has great power and tows good. Beats Chevrolet and Dodge hands down. No interior of any competitor can even come CLOSE! Bumpers are heavy duty and can withstand just about anything.

  I test drove the new f-150 over the weekend. The one I test drove had the 3 valve 5.4 liter V8. It was a black fx4 with almost every option. This had to be the best truck ever bulit.

  I have owed 3 Ford trucks. I will not own a 4th. Ford failed miserably with this redesign. Problems I have are: Water leak on passenger side, replaced IWE solenoid and both ruined wheel ends $750, Rebuild rear due to loud whine $800, fix cam phasers (makes the 5.4 engine sound like a diesel) for $1300. These bills does not include the rotors that need repaired and the calipers that need replaced. Check the Ford TSBs. They are aware of these major problems but offer no assistance with repairs. They must be major issues because on 2 of my 3 repairs the parts were backordered. Trust me - Do NOT own an F-150 that is out of warranty. If it is under warranty, be ready to be without your truck - A LOT.

  I really loved this truck up until the transmission went out at 38,000 miles. Ford did not cover it and it cost thousands. The truck also has excessive piston slap and it has had its oil changed every 3k or less. Im in the market for a Dodge now, Ford really needs to work on their quality.

  I originally was shoping for the extended cab F150 but fell in love with the super crew! I love driving it and love the looks I get as a little girl swinging this big truck around. The truck is easy to handle, comfortable for long trips and parks and backs with ease. My husband is driving it now and I am having to fight to get it back from him. The purchase of this truck is probably the best vehicle purchase I have made. It is large enough to haul my horse trailer and gardening supplies with out being over imposing. I wouldnt trade this truck for anything.

  Great truck, excellent ride, comfortable, good looking. Love those who complain about acceleration and gas mileage. Its a truck - a big truck!!! If you want acceleration get a Porsche. If you want gas mileage get a Honda Civic. You have an 1,800 lb payload, 10,000 lb towing capacity vehicle. Yep, youre right, not going to win the drag race

  My truck has the 8 ft. bed and the 5.4 v-8 engine. I test drove all the trucks in this class for what would be best for me. I chose this one for looks, room in the cab, performance, and the bed size. I live in the country so I have not been able to do a good gas mileage test yet, but I can compare it to the Caddy I have and it gets about the same gas mileage for my driving. It got 18 city and 26 highway. My truck has the 3.55 ratio axle.

  I recently upgraded my 2001 SC 4X4 F150 to the FX4 SC 2004. The ride is great on the road. Off road is a different story. For off roading the ground clearance stinks. My wifes Toyota Highlander can make it through ruts without bottoming out like the new FX4. The new SC is more an SUV then a real off road 4 wheel drive. Ford should be ashamed. Lift the truck by 4 inches minimum.

  Watch the Fuel Injectors! - 2005 Ford F-150

  After several SUVs, my first pickup. Nice to drive - both on the freeway and offroad. But not very reliable. Problems range from annoying (the CD player has been replaced 4 times and still isnt working correctly) to serious (has broken down 3 times and been towed once in the first 25,000 miles due to faulty fuel injectors). About to go out of warranty so Ill probably consider trading for something more reliable - maybe Japanese?
