This Year's Model Updates:

After a full redesign last year, the big news for the 2010 Ford F-150 is the return of a Harley-Davidson trim level and the introduction of the high-performance SVT Raptor. Beyond that, the flareside body style has been phased out, and there are minor equipment adjustments for certain trim levels.

Pros:
  • Refined ride, quiet interior, wide variety of cab and bed configurations, top crash-test scores, good-looking and functional cabin.

  • This truck wont quit! - 2010 Ford F-150

Got a few stories for this truck. (Owned by my mother while in the oil field) she bought it from her boss with 130000miles with super crew xlt and 4x4 with the 4.6l V8 3v now it has 238500miles and still runs great. But when it hit 201000 miles the rocker arms( they help push pistons and are part of the camshaft) broke and so did the camshaft and one spark plug was out and we drove it another 15-20 at 40mph which is great considering the conditions it was in. Torque converter went out as well but it was easy to fix but. Now Im getting older and starting to drive literally hoping and praying I get this truck from her just bc of how it is. But it will get you out of your bad situations and wont break down often or at all if you get a ford you wont regret it unless your a Chevy fanatic. It has great power, 4x4 system, suspension, seats are durable and comfy, has a great look depending on the model/trim sync system is excellent and the factory bed liner is still all together even through everything, and if you work in your truck get a cellphone signal booster it helps for middle of nowhere situations. Hope you enjoy a ford if you get one!

Its a big work truck, keeping it under 2,000 rpm will greatly increase your gas mileage! Mine had 20 inch rims had to get 18s cuz the ride was too stiff but other than that great truck, I love the key pad entry , I just lock my keys in the truck

Good year for the F150 last year of the reliable and dependable 5.4 liter V8. Repairs have been limited to mostly routine maintenance. No concerns but was always serviced by Ford dealer. Mileage is poor at about 15 in town and 18-19 on road if kept below 75 mph, Interstate speed limit in most of the state. Very good truck, towes great.

Front drivers seat not real comfortable, but overall a good truck.

  • Siox speed tranny is useless - 2010 Ford F-150

This is my sixth F150 in addition I have owned two full size broncos. All had the 351 or 5.4 motor except one bronco had 1 400. I love fords, but this new one with a 6-speed transmission is aggravating. This thing shifts constantly in city driving. I wish i had my 2006 4-speed automatic in it.Driving up a slight hill in traffic the tranny seems like it slips, then it slams. It is far from smooth. You feel each and every shift no matter what speed. The interior is nice, this one has a floor shift, looks nice but you lose storage space...and you do not realize how much you used the floor in front of the console until its gone. I like it, I am praying for a service bulletin on the transmission.

  • Working truck - 2010 Ford F-150

I seem to be one of the few that buys a truck to use as a truck. I am more interested in the motor, frame, tranny, rearend than if it has heated seats or I can plug my IPOD in or heated seats.I haul with this truck an drive it into fields. down graval roads an in the snow. The truck does very well doing all these things. An I feel its the best bang for the money. The frame is very stiff no flex an the truck likes to work. If you are looking for a truck that you are going to use as a truck this truck will serve you well. I am getting around 18mpg an that ok with me its a truck not a little car. I have 3.73 rear gears in this truck for towing an hauling.

  • It so easy to fall in love with - 2010 Ford F-150

The worse thing about this truck in 2w drive is it comes with Pirelli Scorpion tires. They are loud and they dont last very long. From experience, my next set of tires were BF Goodrich Long Trails. They are quite and they will last 3 to 4 times longer than the Pirellis. The long trails had cracks between the treads so I had to replace them. I went with some Yokohamas. They were slightly less expensive and are quieter than the Longtrails. I have also seen better gas mileage. I have had no leaks into the cab and I have had it for 6 years and 78k miles on it. I did add an aftermarket alarm (Viper). My last Lariat had 1 break-in and two other attempts of theft of vehicle or break-ins. It rides smooth. I did get the extended warranty. It supposedly a bumper to bumper warranty. I guess I will find out when something goes out in the next 22k miles. I have had no major problems with it. I did have to tranny software reloaded because of hard shifting and had it in because of the Sony amp went out. I did have it in for what I thought was "tranny clutch plates" going out in an automatic. Not even, they thought it was something in the rear end and replaced it and it still did go away. There was some kind of letter put out by Ford stating that the drive shaft needs to be lubricated every 2 to 3 years because where the drive shaft meets the tranny needs to slide in and out because the rear end moves up and down. This only happens when you first start off and in harsh terrain, which most truck driver wont experience. This took 2wks to figure out, but Ford put me in a renter till they figured it out. :o) It was FX2 with the 2l eco boost. That thing is too fast 0 to60. It feels light and nimble. My truck is a stock truck in the Lariat trim. It is roomy front and back. I can carry 3 full grown men (football players) and had no complaint, but complements on how roomy it was to ride in. After 90k, I am still satisfied with my truck. I am still asked if it is brand new or just a couple of years old. I plan on keeping this truck forever! I may buy another truck, but this one has been too good to us. :o)

  • Fuel Mileage - 2010 Ford F-150

The fuel mileage sucks. The best I can get on the highway is 15 mpg. driving it very carefully never exceeding 65 mph. It is rated for 17 city 21 highway. I am not happy. The A/C output is pathetic in hot weather in traffic. There is a hard bang in the driveline after starting to roll from a full stop. The head restraint/rest is at an awful angle forward making you have your chin down at an uncomfortable angle.
