This Year's Model Updates:

The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

  • Fuel 12 mpg/14 mpg realistic - 2004 Ford F-150

14 mpg/18 mpg is something that you will never see if you live in Minnestota. I have never been able to reach anything above 14.78 mpg. (Cruise control set on 65 mph. No wind that day. Flat ground with little hills.)

  • Great Truck! - 2004 Ford F-150

What a great truck! The quality of the 2004 Ford F-150 is outstanding. I know that Im driving a truck because of its aggressive stance and ride height, but sometimes the quietness and comfortable ride have me thinking Im riding in a luxury sedan (i.e. Crown Victoria). The only downside is the sluggish feel of the throttle when accelerating. They say its because of the trucks weight, but the 5 star frontal crash rating should cancel that negative out. If I had it to do over again, I would buy mine with the 5.4 liter instead of the 4.6 liter. Overall this is a great truck!

  • Good Truck - 2004 Ford F-150

I really like my new F150. Dont thave anough miles on to comment on the durabiltity but my 97 wnet for 130K and still ran as new when traded. The new Ford has good power, good handling, hauls anything you could want to put on a trailer or in the bed and the interior is the best in the retail truck world! However, Ford will need to continually improve the quality control on some of the small stuff. Body panel alingment and finish is not much better than in the past. I know its not a Enzo, but for around $40K the doors shouldnt kick away from the rocker panel on the bottom and almost touch metal at the top.

  • Good truck but stiff suspension - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

Not a bad ride for a truck but the suspension is simply too stiff, I get shaken around quite a bit when driving on a not even so bad road. I test drove the Nissan King cab and I believe the ride is soo much better as well as the performance but the reason why I didnt want it is the constant engine and exhaust noise. The Ford is nice and quiet. Dissapointing is the fuel consumption, I dont get more then 350 miles out of my 26 gallon tank before the "low fuel" lights up. Overall, a good pacjage for the $$. I received a $7000 off MSRP!!

  • a few details....... - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

The 2WD Lariat F150 2004 model is great. A few details and it woud be perfect. Needs more interior storage, pockets, etc, the center console is just a single huge area without any dividers. No underseat storage either. Otherwise great, mileage ok, but not great; 14 in town 16 - 17 on the road. Pretty good for a heavy pickup. Acceleration good, not great though. Handling is great, brakes also great. Tires ok, Goodrich Long Trails. Interior design very good. BUT, wheres the cassette player?
