Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Great Truck - 2004 Ford F-150
By jconnell67 - August 10 - 10:00 amThis is my first exprience with a truck, and it is turning out to be a great one. The inside of the cab rivals that of many luxury cars and the exterior is vast improvement over the previous model. The standard items on the Lariat provide enough features that you dont even need to request any options. However, I would recommend the rear park assist (this truck feels awfully big in a parking garage) and the center console with captains chairs (to give it that extra touch of luxury on the interior). The ride is cofortable for a truck, and it handles very well for the size of the vehicle.

Beautiful truck - 2004 Ford F-150
By Calvinsf150 - August 10 - 2:00 amI have drivin the f150 1000 miles now and its wonderful exept that I am 66 and the seat belt come across my neck to high and I wish the power adjustable peddles were on the model we bought. I didnt notice to much discomfort leg wise until I was in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour or so. For a shorter person this truck would be awesome in all driving conditions and is great on the open road in cruise control for everyone.

What happened to Ford? - 2005 Ford F-150
By letgomyeggo - August 7 - 1:00 amWhere do I begin. I brought my truck brand new and I take very good care of it. At 3000 miles, starter goes out and I have to have it towed from work. Next, black emblem paint chips off and steering column begins to rattle. Next, computer chip goes out and I have to have it towed again. Transmission begins slipping and rust is starting to form underneath all doors from bad welding. Air Conditioner leaking inside cab now on passenger side. Transmission is still slipping and now I have a clunk in the rear end when I come to a stop and start to go. I am not at 34700 miles and the warranty is getting ready to expire. Give me a Dodge now!

Great F-150 - 2006 Ford F-150
By gus - August 5 - 9:35 pmThe design inside and outside is great. The space in the supercrew backseat is great. The only fault is the 4.6 feels underpowered.

Best truck on the road - 1999 Ford F-150
By J.D. Tatum - August 5 - 6:04 pmThis truck is more than I actually believed it would be. 5.4L v-8 is strong. Great styling, great ride and for a 2WD will pull much better than I thought it would. I pull a 30,6000lb. travel trailer, 5-6 times per year and it pulls it like a much beefier truck. Fuel mileage is still in the 16 MPG range at 114,000 miles and I have not had replace anything other than normal wear and tear components. I have drive train serviced at end of each summer, trans. fluid looks as good as when it went in. oil changes reveal no surprises and the rear end fluid never needs it when I change it. even with the heavy-hauling the fuel mileage is decent. 8 year old truck and still gets the looks.

Never Again for Ford - 2015 Ford F-150
By chillydawg - August 4 - 8:09 pmPurchased a 2015 Ford F150 XL Ecoboost 4x4 Sport ten months ago. Within the first two months, on my way to work in the woods, every light on the panel lit up. Truck went into "limp mode". After taking over an hour to get home (I was only about 20 minutes away), I called roadside assistance and set up for a tow to the dealer. Tow truck came within an hour and off to the dealer we went. I was given a loaner and told, "well call you when we know whats wrong". Days pass and after no call from the dealer, I called them to see what was wrong with my new truck. They said, "Nothing, no lights came on". I got real upset because I knew they didnt even drive the truck. I asked how did they come to that conclusion? They said, "the computer shows no codes". Now I went off and told them Ill be right there and your service manager will go for a test drive with me. They said no, theyll take it out. Two hours later they called me to tell me my truck has a serious problem that it did in fact "code up" while being driven. They told me they needed to order a very hard to get part; a Throttle Body". A bit of history with Ford and the bad Throttle Body parts they use. In 2013, after numerous customer complaints, NHTSA went after Ford for their use of bad Throttle Body parts. In short, they did a "Customer Satisfaction Program" and replaced the defective Throttle body parts, and extended the warranty on the part. NHTSA NEVER made FORD do a formal recall even though thousands of cars and different models were affected. The "Customer Satisfaction Program" expired in November 2015, but guess what? Yup, Ford continues to use the defective parts in their new vehicles. My F150, my friends Explorer, my other friends Edge, all had Throttle Body failure soon after purchasing new vehicles. I wish I did this research before I bought the truck, but knew nothing about the Throttle Body issue to look into it. Now, month 10, the transmission is failing and fast. I stop at a light, give it gas to go and BANG followed by a jerk. Took it to the dealer, and since they couldnt get a "code", they said no problem. You are to drive it until its dead and must be towed in. Not very reliable. Last weekend, Columbus Day, I took the loss and got rid of it. Traded it in and went back to my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4x4 that never gave me a problem. NEVER, ever for Ford again.

Need some power - look elsewhere! - 2006 Ford F-150
By Mike Keating - August 3 - 9:35 pmI bought my 06 F150 Supercrew 4.6 litre in October of 2006. This was the 1st new truck I had ever owned, man have I been disapointed. Under normal driving conditions I suppose for most the power of the 4.6 litre is adequete. As soon as I hooked my 19 ft boat up to it man whered the power go Ford? With my Chevy I never even knew the boat was back there, not with this motor. If you plan to haul even the smallest camper/boat do not get an F150 with the 4.6 litre, its awful! If you are looking for a pickup that drives like a car, buy it. If you need a truck with some power for work/play dont buy an F150 w/ this motor. Overall as soon as I can financially trade this Ford F150 in its gone!

Good all around truck - 1991 Ford F-150
By stephen - July 31 - 1:04 pmI have a 1991 F150 Custom std. cab 2WD 4.9L L6. I drove it to school and back 5 years ago the only problems I have had was the water pump, heater core and replacing tires (me being a 17 yr old boy). I would definitely buy another truck like this, but I would like the 5.0. I suggest this truck to anyone. I had 155,000 miles on it when I bought it and it has been a great truck.
