This Year's Model Updates:

The F-150 is fully redesigned for 2004. It's bigger, more powerful and offers a greater variety of features and body styles than ever before.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

  • I LOVE IT - 2004 Ford F-150

This is a great truck, im pretty much an expert, basically, the shocks make it have a smooth ride, there is a feature in the front that absorbs shock from an accident, the braking was designed excellently, the truck puts out 80% of its peak torqe at only 1,000 RPM, making pulling heavy loads from a dead stop easier, and it has a quiet ride so you dont have to hear someone elses music at a stoplight. I would reccomend the 2004 Ford F-150 to anyone!

This model truck has improved alot, but still needs to be worked on for the hesitation of the engine(5.4L), but as for the ride, it does not feel like the ride of a truck but of a luxury car. Also, the back doors could open out alittle more ???? The rear window seals should be better designed for leakage. But keep up with the improvements, it can only get better!!

Best looking truck on the road. Solid build. Had car back into the rear end of my truck the other day. Did lots of damage to car but not a scratch on my truck. Distance sensor is handy since seeing over bed is a bit tough. Enjoying the upgraded sound system. Would be even more enjoyable with steering wheel controls. Little disappointed with the brake squeals. Was told by dealership that all new Ford F150s do this. Started noticing grooves on the rotors early. Ford should really look at this flaw and correct immediately

i have found that my experience driving this ford vechile have been a wonderful one. This Ford has the power of the old muscle cars of the 60s and the high technology of the future. I have had so far no problems with its handling abilities and riding fun. Its a great vechile made by ford and I would buy another one soon. sincerely Gerard Pommier

This is a nice Truck. Handles, Stops, Starts, all good. I bought it because my last 2 F150 ran without major problem up to 100K. I pray Henry made this ones as good.

  • They could have done better - 2004 Ford F-150

The truck has nickel dimed me to death, thank God for the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Brakes fixed 3 times for vibration before they came out with new and improved rotors. Intermittent problem with the climate control system powering off (not fixed yet). Air conditioner just cool, especially in the South. Gas pedal replaced for bad noise, Tail light assembly replaced (filling up with water), Stereo volume surge which they say they cant fix, cheap paint job. Just to name a few.

I agree about the sluggish engine. It doesnt seem to want to get up and go when accelerating from 50 mph and above. The gauges for the FX4 have red needles. Hard to see in daylight with sunglasses on. Lose the suicide doors on extended cabs. Hard to load cargo in parking spaces next to other cars.

  • F150 4x4 4.6L - 2004 Ford F-150

Just bought it last week and only have 300 miles logged but I am enjoying this vehical. I just traded in a Grand Marquis with a performance package so even though they both have 4.6L engines the F150 doesnt accelerate nearly as well(it is also dragging around a 4x4 driveline though) but is just as quiet on the highway and "thats impressive".

My FX4 has the 5.4 motor and 373 rear end. Its a real slug from a standing start. Does anyone else have a similar complaint? I have a 1998 F-150 with the 5.4 motor (2 wheel drive) and it has much better pick up. I only have 400 miles on the truck. Im going to go by and talk to the service dept where I purchsed it to see if there is something wrong with my truck.
