Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Customer neglect is Job #1 - 2004 Ford F-150
By JCRedding - December 15 - 9:57 amWe bought the 04 FX4 new. For the first year it was great. Since then it has evolved into total junk. Use is very light duty and no offroad. At 25K brakes and rotors needed replaced. The AC barely works. At 46K the tranny needed rebuilt and Ford did not see a problem with that nor were they interested in my complaint. Window motors and the main switches plus u- joints replaced at the same time. This on top of $650 for the 45K mi service. Now the rear diff clutch pack is going. taking off from a stop while turning causes the truck to shudder until straightened out. With 48K now on the odo it has turned into a rattle trap. I should have payed the difference and gone back to a Toyota!

Nice Truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By fordtrkman - December 13 - 8:33 amI have the xl v-6 with the work truck pkg. Very nice truck to be basic. It gets better gas milage than my 96 Explorer Sport w/v-6 and 5-speed. I am very impressed with the smooth ride and handleing. The xtra room behind the seats is great. After driving this truck I dont think I could ever drive the other regular cabs. The truck looks good, and because its an XL its easy to keep the interior clean. No carpet to get stained.

This truck paid for itself - 1996 Ford F-150
By DB - December 9 - 9:35 amI purchased this truck new in Nov 1995. In 12 years, the only unscheduled maintenance Ive had to do was a radius arm bushing in 2002 and a starter which gave out in 2006. Ive moved myself cross country (saved thousands of dollars), been off-road on a regular basis in the mountains of Colorado and pretty much beat the truck to death (after all, it is a truck) and still it delivers. Through three wrecks, Ive not had to make any repairs. The things I hit werent so fortunate. After 220,000 miles, its pretty much at the end of the line. The engine still purrs, but other things are starting to wear out (suspension bushings, interior trim, dashboard lights, A/C hoses, etc). Thanks, Ford

The best never rest - 1992 Ford F-150
By brian839297 - December 8 - 2:52 pmIt has over 250,000 miles and still runs on the original 351. The trans finally gave at 240 and it is now sporting a c6. This truck will take any thing you can give it. I jump it, take it off-road and drive it every day. The truck is fast for being what it is. I can out run almost any new Chevy and some HEMI Dodges too!

Wow - 2008 Ford F-150
By NikiNicole - December 6 - 10:50 amI love my new truck! So does everyone else. We cant even go to the store without someone stopping to talk to us about our truck and wanting to know where they can get one! I love the NAV, rearview camera, heated seats, 2 tone leather. Ford has outdone it self with this truck! This truck has been "cityfied"!

By docster - December 2 - 3:53 pmhad truck for 3 months. was in shop almost every 3 weeks. For a new truck, this is unacceptable by any measure. Ford says does live up to all of the accronyms. turned truck back in and bought a toyota. Toyota builds a FAR superior Truck in quality. Id pay more for the quality and sacrafice the options any day

Worst Truck Ever Built - 2003 Ford F-150
By Adam2909093 - December 2 - 2:00 amThis Truck was the biggest mistake in my life. I paid too much, and got a very poorly made, truck, that rattled down the road, and broke down, more then it ran. Dont buy this truck, What ever you do. Skip it, you be glad you did. Far as problems are concerned, there are too many to list. About the only thing that was good was the A/C and the sound system was good. besides that. Nothing else was good.

Why not - its a Ford pickup - 1996 Ford F-150
By CDK - November 30 - 7:09 amExcellent experience. In 108,000 miles, Ive replaced the starter solenoid, cracked windshield and the torque converter seal. Of course Ive gone through a couple of batteries and one thermostat. The design of the cooling system was well engineered. There is a bypass channel around the thermostat. When the thermostat failed closed last summer the engine indicated temperature never reached the redline. The original tires were terrible, had 2 of them come apart prior to the recall. The truck still has the original exhaust system and has never failed the TX annual state inspection. Overall, except for gas mileage, super pickup. In 1996 gas mileage was not that important.
