Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Pig On Gas - 2004 Ford F-150
By DaveN - March 22 - 2:33 amI bought this truck in Feb 05. I like everything about it. Great looks, style, ride and comfort. However the gas mileage is terrible. Its rated @ 15 city and 19 hwy. I got an average between 12 and 13 mpg until summer and using the A/C. I now average 11 to 11.5. Living in South FL with high gas prices this was a terrible choice for me. If fuel economy is a concern dont buy this truck. If style, ride and comfort are whats most important this is the truck to buy. Im trading it in this weekend for a Honda CR-V and 24 mpg.

Great Truck - 2008 Ford F-150
By Fred - March 20 - 8:28 pmThis truck has exceeded my expectations in every catagory. I just took a long trip across PA aorund 65 mph and got just over 20 mpg. This truck only has 1200 miles on it. The mileage should only get better. I plan to add an exhaust and cold-air intake and expect even better mileage. Comfort is excellent for long hauls and it is also really quiet. Ive driven a variety of trucks (Chevy and Dodge) in 11 years of contract work. Nothing else compares. I could not ask for a better truck.

05 STX 4X4 Apple Inside - 2005 Ford F-150
By I-Gotta-Mac-Truck - March 19 - 5:11 pmQuiet, smooth ride, safe, reliable. As always, it is a Ford truck after all. This is why they are #1. The 4.6L in the 4x4 is not a speed demon, itll get there though. It is a great pulling truck, can handle heavy loads with ease. Last but not least you gotta admit, it is a pretty truck!

Far too many electrical problems - 2005 Ford F-150
By Bruce Morgan - March 17 - 11:28 pmThe truck has had far too many electrical problems. In 145000 miles it has had three alternators, two batteries, seven light bulbs and five sensors replaced. All after the 36,000 mile warranty. Now it is having ABS problems that I have estimates of from $300 to $2,500 to repair. Front brakes are very expensive to replace, as are most other items dealing with suspension, that should not be. Front bearing are over $200 and cannot be repacked, they need to be replaced. Overall, very happy with the ride, handling and comfort, but the electrical issues are really a problem. Never know if I will really get where I am going or not.

I thought it would be better - 2008 Ford F-150
By D. Hamblin - March 17 - 12:14 pmBought the truck new. Have not had any actual "problems". The truck drives just fine. Seems like when you go over a bump the bed "moves" no noise and everything feels tight, but you can see movement. On a windy day I have to fight to get to 70 MPH. Feels liks something is pushing against me. Truck feels underpowered. Has a slight rough isle at stoplights. Dealer says its normal, Ford has "leaned out" the motor at idle for imissions regulations. I wish I had bought the V-8. 4300 miles now. Really wish it had more power. My 1997 S-10 had more power.

Awesome Truck - 2002 Ford F-150
By John Murgatroyd - March 17 - 9:47 amI love this truck. Never left me on the side of the road. Everything still original, except for tires. Still has original battery and shocks even. Had a 100,000 mile tune up done recently, which cost a bit (included engine flush, transmission flush and coolant flush), but nothing needed replacement. I expected something to be worn or borderline, but it got a clean bill of health. I plan on passing it along to my daughter for her first vehicle and getting another newer model.

Great Truck - 2006 Ford F-150
By TomV - March 17 - 7:13 amI have owned two Dakota club cabs in the past 9 years and decided to go for a full size truck this time. The Ford F-150 is hands down twice the truck the Dakota was. Even in terms of fuel economy it is much better than either Dakota ( a V-6 and a V-8). The cab layout is good, the controls simple and intuitive. The ride and handling are great - and QUIET! Visibility with the new side window design is superb.

Worth the money - 2004 Ford F-150
By Mil - March 16 - 2:00 amSimply a rush and fun to drive - given todays gas prices, should have another vehicle for everyday transportation unless youre filthy rich or have an oil field in your back yard :-) Most fun Ive had dressed in a long time.....

My Truck - 2004 Ford F-150
By J.P. - March 15 - 9:06 pmI have owned Cheverolet Dodge and now Ford, trust me 3rd time is a charm. I drive on average 16000 miles a year and have experienced both quality and reliability in my F-150. I receive many complimentson how it looks and drives.
