  • Died after 300 miles - 2016 Ford F-150
    By -

Bought the truck brand new and after 8 days and 300 miles, the engine died. Yes, died. Unbelievable! We liked the truck when it ran. Unfortunately, it didnt run for very long. You would think Ford would replace the truck. At this point, they have had the truck as long as I have.

  • so sad - 2016 Ford F-150
    By -

i have owned fords my whole driving life from ford mustangs to ford f150 trucks.. the 2016 is sad. i have owned it 6 months and its been it the shop 3 times. the latches freeze so when you open your door you cant get it shut and when you finally get it to close you might not get it back open. the other day my radio quit working for the day and the next day it started working again. the trim on the driver side rear door came messed up from factory. i emailed ford directly about the latches they are on back order with no eta date. i asked them to send me a hammer to break the window if i couldnt get the door open. they provide no rentals for this problem. unfortunately i am stuck in the lease for 3 years if i would have bought it outright it would be sitting with a "for sale" sign on it

  • Ford has FAILED their customers by ignoring safety - 2016 Ford F-150
    By -

I ordered a custom 2016 F150 Limited in January and it arrived in May. Since then, it has been downhill. Most recently, the brakes completely FAILED at about 3,000 miles. The worst part of this FAILURE is that they, FORD, has known about the defect for YEARS and has FAILED to solve the problem. We arent talking about a turn signal not working, we are talking about THE PRIMARY SAFETY FEATURE OF EVERY VEHICLE ON EARTH...THE BRAKES!! The recalled hundreds of thousands of 2013, 2014 and 2015 trucks for this problem, but yet it continues....why? Actuaries which do the numbers and it more cost effective for Ford to repair the trucks and settle any litigation that comes from it rather than going back to the vendor and repairing the causal factor for the failures. I will never buy another Ford product in my life and am more than happy to tell everyone I come in contact with about it. We are at 3 weeks in the shop and the dealership still doesnt have the parts to fix it...a master cylinder? Really? Ford Sucks!

  • Overpriced - 2016 Ford F-150

MPG overstated, by quite a bit. This truck will never reach over 14 MPG. Ever. Door seals falling out before the first oil change. Carpet in the cab pulling up for no reason. Transmission unresponsive, any acceleration requires a downshift. Maybe 2 downshifts. Incredibly under powered. Auto-kill very dangerous at intersections, unresponsive or delayed. This truck is not only poorly engineered and built, but dangerous. The sync "tech" is 5-10 years behind. It does not even have simple navigation. Its as if the "tech" was an afterthought. Generally clumsy and awkward to drive. Almost impossible to park in an urban setting. Wholly impractical. It doesnt seem like Ford invested a lot in the engineering of this truck. Cost driven up to unreasonable amounts due to American unions. A $20K truck, sold for over $50K. I would suggest a Ram truck instead.

  • Worst car Ive owned - 2016 Ford F-150

Drove off the lot with vibration. Dealer said normal even though its obviously not. Bought an angle finder and found 4.5 degree working angle for transaxle-to-driveshaft and .5 degree working angle at pinion-to-driveshaft. Working angles should be 1 degree at least or youll wear out u-joints. Working angles should be within 1 degree or youll have vibration. While trying to get that fixed, 5.0 engine developed a tick at idle and a clacking sound in the passenger side valvetrain. All of this and I have 2,200 miles on a brand new truck. Dealer today argued it all drives and sounds normal, of course. Run as fast as you can from the F-150. They are not what they used to be. In fact, this is my third new Ford since 2013 and theyve been nothing but headaches. 28 years of driving Fords since age 16. Today, done with Ford for good. Their cars are junk now.

  • Nightmare purchase - 2016 Ford F-150

If poor engineering, fake specifications, bad customer service from the dealership and no help from the corporate office is what you desire then welcome home to Ford! My 2016 F-150 struggles to pull my bass boat, dry weight only 2400 pds, up sharp inclines. Short on-ramps on the interstate are a special treat. Hitting the breaks to a dead stop before being killed is something you should be prepared for with this one. Its a pooch and not going to haul anything except a few bags of groceries home or a some trash bags to the dump in back. Totally worthless hauler no matter what the specs say. The favorable reports here are more than likely plants, Ford employees or both. Run like a scalded dog to Chevy or Dodge if you want a real truck. Ford F-150 is a toy, nothing more.
