The interior gets a minor refresh that includes a revised instrument cluster. XLT models now come with additional standard features, while the high-line XLT Premium gets a new monochrome exterior look. The Adrenalin model now features an even more powerful premium audio system. All models get a flexible fuel feature that allows them to run on ethanol-blended fuel, as well as traditional gasoline. Finally, there is no longer a manual transmission option on XLS models.

Almost Perfect! - 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By The Paul - May 14 - 10:00 amI recently bought the XLT premuium 2004 with leather, sunroof, 6-disc changer, etc. It is a absolutely great truck. The performance is good, ride is good ( a little rough on bad terrain, but it is a truck). Sound is good, seats are very comfortable and the price was good. I am happy to see ford build a product that Americans can buy and be happy about. Buy American!

Great looks, poor mileage - 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By Torreadorered - April 6 - 2:00 amTotally disgusted with mileage. Ranges from 10 mpg in town to 15-16 on hwy. Does much worse than my full size GMC with similar driving. Great ride, lots of good features. Wife even likes ride and accessories.

MY XLT - 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

It carries my family and I comfortably, all 5 of us. My family and I enjoy its versitility. We use it for fishing and camping trips, the shorter, smaller bed being just the right fit for us. This is a great compact truck.

By hockeynut52 - January 17 - 10:00 amI have owned Ford Trucks in the past, but nothing compares to this truck. Smoothe ride, smoothe engine, smoothe looking. All the attributes of a full size SUV and the convenience of a pick up truck can be found in this truck. The fuel economy could be alittle better, but with a tonneau cover and K&N filter this can be improved a bit. It is worth the trade off on the fuel economy because the truck looks and rides great.

By papasmack - November 18 - 10:00 amI bought the sport trac because of its looks, size and features and think that it will suit my purposes of light hauling. I think the interior is average and a bit dated, and pales in comparison to the new f150 interior. I really enjoy the power rear window and its driving comfort. However, I must say suspension has the truck jumping all over on bumpy roads. I would really love this truck if the ride was a bit smoother and not as skiddish.
