  would buy another one - 1995 Ford Escort

  I bought mine at auction 5 months ago for $900. The car was fairly trashed by the previous owner, but I was looking for something cheap and good on gas. It has 132,000 miles and still runs strong. Leaks a little oil and antifreeze but it still gets 35+ mpg running back and forth to work. Shame it wasnt taken care of, but Ill run it till it drops and find another one. The A/C is awesome, a must for living in the south.

  A Great Car - 1995 Ford Escort

  Ive had this car for 5 years. Ive replaced the battery, the timing belt, the radiator (only because I never flushed it), the tires, and the plugs. Otherwise, this has been an outstanding vehicle to own and operate. I highly recommend this for a college student or teens first car.

  Great car for Getting Around - 1995 Ford Escort

  I have had some problems with my little scort, but we are working them out. I had a intensly bad problem when I was at an idling speed the car would begin to jolt, this was especially scary on the highway at fast speeds. My mechanic told me that it was the EGR (exhaust gasket registor), it is a emmisiions control device that was causing the exhaust to plug up. Now that I have this problem taking care of I have fallen in love with this car. I am currently adding performance parts under the hood. I also plan on painting it Emerald green in the summer of 2003!

  Although many people malign Fords, I have been very happy with mine for the past 6 years. It has 138,000 miles on it, and it is still running strong.

  I bought the little Escort hessitantly, but in dier need of a car. At 44,000miles. It was great! I enjoyed it and gave me new hope in Ford products. I would recommend this little car to anyone who uses it for school or even small travel trips. Great fuel, I did have to replace a serpentine belt and before selling it the fan. No complaints, and Im glad to say so! We grew out of it so thats why I sold it.

  I got a lemon - 1995 Ford Escort

  Im 18, purchased my first car last year, a ford escort, hunter green. First thing I should have noticed is that the last owner had a rebuilt engine, no biggie I thought, then it cost me $3500 in pure repairs after one year, the car has a new engine, transmission, radiator, alternator, brakes, a/c system and cooling fan, all replaced by me out of pocket. The car will cause you problem after problem and when you do finally catch up on the payments from the repairs it will break on you again and again.

  The Escort is a reliable piece of basic transportation. It gets you from point A to point B with minimal fuss. Unfortunately, with the 1.9L engine, you also get minimal acceleration. Road noise is excessive, even for a small car, but the ride is quite supple for a car of this age (the chassis first debuted on the Protege in 1990). Not a bad little car overall, very reliable.

  Difficult to get in and out of car without tilt steering wheel. Poor pick up in highway driving

  Its a very nice car, a powerful baby u can depend upon. Got a good road grip, nice steeting, powerful roaring engine & with manual shifting its way too coooool.
