A Great Car - 1995 Ford Escort
By MyRoomie - December 27 - 2:00 amIve had this car for 5 years. Ive replaced the battery, the timing belt, the radiator (only because I never flushed it), the tires, and the plugs. Otherwise, this has been an outstanding vehicle to own and operate. I highly recommend this for a college student or teens first car.

Great car for Getting Around - 1995 Ford Escort
By The Artist - December 19 - 2:00 amI have had some problems with my little scort, but we are working them out. I had a intensly bad problem when I was at an idling speed the car would begin to jolt, this was especially scary on the highway at fast speeds. My mechanic told me that it was the EGR (exhaust gasket registor), it is a emmisiions control device that was causing the exhaust to plug up. Now that I have this problem taking care of I have fallen in love with this car. I am currently adding performance parts under the hood. I also plan on painting it Emerald green in the summer of 2003!

Praise for the Ford Escort - 1995 Ford Escort
By EBS - December 4 - 2:00 amAlthough many people malign Fords, I have been very happy with mine for the past 6 years. It has 138,000 miles on it, and it is still running strong.

The Escort - 1995 Ford Escort
By stvkrenim - October 5 - 2:00 amThe Escort is a reliable piece of basic transportation. It gets you from point A to point B with minimal fuss. Unfortunately, with the 1.9L engine, you also get minimal acceleration. Road noise is excessive, even for a small car, but the ride is quite supple for a car of this age (the chassis first debuted on the Protege in 1990). Not a bad little car overall, very reliable.

I LOVE MY CAR!!!! :) - 1995 Ford Escort
By chikinblack - August 15 - 2:00 amThis is an awesome car. Hands down. I was fairly worried when I first bought her, I love to travel and she was already at 54,000 miles, which gave me doubts to how long shed last. Im now at 88,000 miles and the only thing Ive done to her is change the timing belt. The engine is great, you hit the pedal and youre gone. And 340 miles later you have to fill the tank. What more could you want? Ive had no exterior/interior problems other than the belt, and I would recommend this car to anyone who wants something peppy, reliable, gas efficient, and a LOT of fun :) Two thumbs WAY up. Why did Ford have to take them away? :(

Bought used, had 5 years, like it!! - 1995 Ford Escort
By Sarah F - July 16 - 2:00 amMy "mileage" is actually in kms, being Canadian! I bought my Escort used with 125 000 kms, it now has 200 000 kms after 4 years. Reliability has been good with regular maintenance- had to have rear brakes replaced. Not a whole lot of pep (auto transmission). Some rust on side of door. Comfort is good, A/C works AWESOMELY although mileage loses! My fuel economy has been declining over the last year. Handles well.

Decent Car - 1995 Ford Escort
By BigGuy100 - May 29 - 2:00 amBought new, now has over 100,000 miles on it. Needed new transmission and ignition at 53,000 miles. Have replaced 2 tie rods. Overall good fuel economy even at 100,000 +. Very reliable for price. VERY spacious with seats folded down. Hauled everything from a washer to furniture!

Still Going Strong - 1995 Ford Escort
By catskill - May 23 - 2:00 amPurchased my 2nd Escort with 26,000 miles in Oct. 2000. Now has 73,000 miles - mostly highway. In that time, I have not had a single problem with the car. Gas mileage is terrific, averaging about 33 with automatic trans. Front seat gets uncomfortable for me on long trips (2+ hours), but its a terrific car all around. Im now selling it to buy a newer Escort wagon...but what a great car!
