Overall a fun car to drive. A few lil ford problems here and there but a great value. Very nice perfromance on the road. Nice brakes. For a teen, its a great car.

Save a few more dollars and buy a Honda, or Toyota instead. This is one cheaply built and unrealiable car.

  • Dont Buy a Contour!!! - 2000 Ford Contour

I bought a 2000 ford contour with about 25,000 miles on it. It is in the shop about once a month for a number of problems, things inside the car such as the dashboard and the windows now rattle, and above the speed of 65 I hear an annoying whisteling noise. My brother also owns one and reports the same problem with a little variation in the small annoying things. I am dumping money into this car.

I love my contour sport - it is fun, yet classy! It most certainly feels sporty, and hugs corners quite well, it also handles WNY winters with ease (which is saying something). Contrary to other reviews, the vehicle has more than enough passenger space. The lunch crew(3 tall, broad-shouldered men fit comfortably). I also use the vehicle for carting around Girl Scout supplies and helpers without trouble. If you really want a family car, buy a Taurus, which is also a wonderful vehicle and will give you even more passenger space if thats what youre looking for.

I had this car for about 6 months. I never had any problems with it and liked it. I got in an accident and was hit on the front passenger side door. Fortunately, everyone was perfectly fine (including the front passenger) - maybe that is a testament to the safetiness (the car was considered totalled - yet still drivable).

Well, first there was the recall on the dashboard part. Then the trunk was leaking, very bad. The board in the bottom of the trunk is forever warped. Then theres the weather stripping trim of the door that keeps coming off and I enjoy the whistle of the wind as I drive down the road. I also have more trim around the windows that keeps popping up. And now I have to take it in because of a loud humming or buzz I hear when its cold. Ive always driven Ford and never had problems like this. And these are more of an annoyance than anything, but I still wouldnt buy another Contour.

  • The performance in this car is great - 2000 Ford Contour

I purchased my 2000 Contour Se Sport on April 27, 2002. I traded in my 96 Old Cutlass Supreme for it. I have have the 2.5 24 valve Duratec V-6 (which is standard for that year). Im surprised that it has a lot of standard features including power, windows, lock, mirrors, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, 15 inch alloy wheels, and premium am/fm cd player. I like the way the car handles. It can go from 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds. It responds a hell of a lot better than my oldsmobile.

The SE Sport is a true sleeper car. Its my second Contour and so far has been as reliable as my first one. Great accelleration and the exhaust sounds good as well. Its comfortable and handles extremely well. The best thing-its invisible to police.
