Best College Car - 1995 Ford Contour
By ksukymmie - November 19 - 2:00 amI brought my Ford Contour in 1999 and still have it in 2002. I have only had one minor problem with it and that occured when the "Check Engine" light came on. For the entire four years, I only paid 400$ in repairs for this car. It is still in excellent condition and remains a great reliable vehicle. I recommend this car to anyone out there. Good luck in your search!

By Vivi - November 14 - 2:00 amI have owned my contour for about 2 years, and it has 69k miles, now it have 90K and I never have any problem. It needed + market. The design is from England. That is the reason whay is a "diferent Ford".

Zippy - 1995 Ford Contour
By bquiner - September 23 - 2:00 amThis car has almost always performed superbly. It still has all of its zip after 85,000+ miles. The leather interior is very nice. No major mechanical repairs have been required.

Ford didnt market this gem very well - 1995 Ford Contour
By calhykr - September 13 - 2:00 amMy grandparents bought a 95 SE with most of the goodies and let the car sit. I bought it at five years old with only 11,000 "grandparent" miles. To date, I have only had to tighten a coupling in the EGR system. The accompanying clicking-when-accelerating noise and check engine light no longer happen. The cup holder is now broken, but the important things still function as they should now that the car is a ripe 7 years old with 24K miles.

A good car if well maintained - 1995 Ford Contour
By ddd - May 21 - 2:00 amThe car has always run well. After 86000 miles the water pump failed and needed to be replaced. Around the same mileage the antilock brake system needed to be rebuilt. May have been avoided if the brake fluid was changed more often.

good car great value - 1995 Ford Contour
By heggsmoney - May 7 - 2:00 amThe 4 cyl has ample power with the 5 speed and amazing gas milage (over 41 mpg highway). Had to have an engine mount replaced but other than that it has been perfect. For $5000 loaded with otions and only 61 K miles it was a heck of a deal.

Daily Driver - 1995 Ford Contour
By XCLNCE - April 15 - 2:00 amI have owned my contour for more than 3 years now and have never had a problem. The 2.5L V6 is an excellent engine with a matched 5spd manual transmission. It has a broad torque curve and will pull all the way to the redline if needed. I bought the car with 60k miles on it and am now at 118k. I have never had any problems with the car, and have driven cross country multiple times. I have been from San Francisco to New York, in 48 hours flat and have not been let down. If regular maintenance is performed on the car I can see these cars pushing over 200k with no problem.
