  • Good so far - 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

Only owned the car a couple of days but I love it. For a 3600 lb. vehicle with a 4 cyl. the acceleration is amazing. Handling is real good too. Traded in a 2010 Sport Fusion for it and it doesnt feel like I lost a lot. Gas milage so far for me is 37mpg so that will take some improvement. Seats are comfortable. The Blind Spot mirrors are somewhat of a throwback but they work. The power liftgate comes as advertised. Swipe your foot under the bumper to open or close. The panoramic sunroof does not open but its huge. The sunshade is slightly transparent so I can see this being a problem when the hot weather rolls in. It will take a long time to master MyFord Touch.

  • Extremely poor reliability, failed after 2 month - 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid
    By -

The engine had crazy noise, dealer said it is normal. The door chime is not there, now after 7 weeks, the transmission failed. Ford not only lied about the mpg, they did not even test it, they just decide to put a number there, but they have the audacity to insult Hyundai when NHTSA fined Hyundai, yet [non-permissible content removed] government did not even investigate Fords lie. Asked Ford ex-employee, told Ford demand the orginal transmission maker to reveal their trade secret to Ford and Visteon, then both companies compete for Fords business, of course original supplier was angry, possibly provided low-quality parts to Ford. Ford should just go out of business!

  • Fun to Drive, But There Are Problems........ - 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid
    By -

The C-Max has great interior design, a good sound system, handles well and seems roomy, but there are nagging problems that drag down the car. Like another reviewer, my clock just randomly changes time. The car also randomly starts itself which is a little disconcerting. The cruise control does not throttle back when going downhill so on a long, steep hill you can end up going 20 - 25 MPH over the speed you set. I think that is a dangerous defect, although not sure if I just have a defective cruise control or this is a problem with all C-Max cruise controls.

  • Buy this over a Prius - 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

This car is amazing! I tried the Prius and never looked back. The fit and finish is like like a German car, and the leather seats are comfortable. Whats outstanding is the cab forward visibility. You can see so much of the road and countryside while you are touring. Ride is very good for 17" tires, and handling is very tight. OK, the navigation and controls take time to learn, but work great once you understand, so dont trust Consumer Reports. THIS IS A BLAST TO DRIVE. We average 38 mpg city and country. Its hard to test in LA, because if you start up slowly, people get on your tail. I had to cut across some traffic once, and floored it at the stop light, the torque was like hyperspace.

I loved this car at first But now it has locked me out and wont start I got over it the first and second time but now we are on the eighth time Every time I have taken it to the ford dealer i bought it from(this is the third time) they give me a different reason and say it is fixed after they are done They even said it was my remote start i had put in even thought it did it twice before I put the starter in They told me i had to remove it cost $177.00 Oh and that remote start cost $650.00 to put in But I live in the country we have a lot of hills I am trying to get rid of the car because I have a two year old and need something that is reliable

  • Love My Weird Looking Car - 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid
    By -

I had the 2013 Fusion and hated it. They put me in this, even though I was resistent. It is funny-looking (better than the ugly Prius, but that isnt saying much). And now I freaking love my weird looking car. It is fun to drive, feels spacious inside but is easy to zip around. The MPG is about 35 right now and I think I can get it higher. Not 47, but maybe 40. The seats could be a bit more comfortable, but I really love driving my car and am loving owning a hybrid. No way would I consider the Prius now.
