Owner x 6 yrs - 1996 Ford Bronco
By gertrude fillmore - December 2 - 2:00 amBought @ 16000 and drove it the next wk. to Alaska and back. Not one problem. Poor gas mileage? Yea but i did not get it for MPG. I bought for safety, dogs, camping and general usefullness and I think its just cool. Only problems have been with the quality/craftsmanship of interior. Hell, a grab handle would have been nice. Once every few months, must retighten all interior screws. Changed oil regulary, have had no problems w/engine...yet. Changed to manual locking hubs, much better. Back window scratches because you must roll into tailgate to open back.

bronco - 1996 Ford Bronco
By whiteout - December 26 - 2:00 amI like the truck, but it had some teething problems. The dealer took a lot of pushing, but eventually fixed most things. The hardest thing to get done was replacement of a warped tailgate. They wouldnt believe anything was wrong even when it wouldnt open 3 different times. They finally believed me when the welded seam on the passenger side of the tailgate let go (about 10k). Factory rep was not helpful with reapairs when I met resistance. Engine & drivetrain are great. Breathes better with K&N filtercharger.

the 2nd one - 1996 Ford Bronco
By bronco chip - December 17 - 2:00 amThe 1st Bronco that I owned was a 1985 xlt with a 351. This was one helluva truck. After I sold it, I came across a 1996 xlt with only 55k actual miles. This truck was extremely clean and I bought it on the spot. I use it during the winter months to get in to quite muddy areas. During the summer months, I pull a large boat with no problems.

Hey Eddie - 1996 Ford Bronco
By MANDINGO - December 8 - 2:00 amA strong dependable go almost anywhere vehicle. Goes like a Mule and drives like one, as long as maintenence is kept up it will continue to go. Other than the electric rear window.

bulletproof - 1996 Ford Bronco
By cbrett - April 19 - 2:00 amFull size Bronco is one tough vehicle. Terrible mileage (13-15mpg) and prehistoric design (unchanged since the 70s), but utilitarian and very safe and reliable. Not a good choice for long range commuting, but an excellent utility vehicle.

6 years, no problems - 1996 Ford Bronco
By Trog - March 7 - 5:43 pmFor 2 people, the Bronco is the best hauling/off road/heavy utility truck Ive seen. Now that I have a 6 month old son, the drawback of the two door design is apparent (the high step and limited forward travel of the front seat makes loading him into a rearward facing car seat nearly impossible). Towing horses, however, is a snap.

own 2 Broncos - 1996 Ford Bronco
By own 2 Broncos - February 14 - 12:47 pmDriving west on I-94 in WI, a semi-truck slid into the rear end. Independent repair shop wanted to replace rear bumper which didnt appear damaged. Ford repair person said bumper was fine but when he opened the rear tire carrier the tailgate was pushed in where the carrier attaches to tailgate. I normally dont go to the dealer for repairs but was glad I did as the body shop foreman knew exactly what to look for. 25 years of experience does count when you want your vehicle repaired right.
