Part of the family - 1995 Ford Aspire
By bowdog72 - August 20 - 6:18 amI bought a 5-speed manual Aspire third hand with 140000km on the clock. Only major problem was a faulty fuel pump that was replaced at 170k - a cheap diy fix. Since purchase the after-market mods have been tinted windows, alloy rims and stiffer suspension - because I love this car. Without doubt, this is the best car I have ever owned. Mechanically it has been perfect with regular oil and coolant changes, and one set of disks and brakes in 50,000km. Amazing, considering it regularly works in the 3-4k rpm range when squeezing through the traffic. My version has a boot opener! No chance of selling this one - the family would never allow it. Thats Ok with me - they can bury me in it!

Glad I bought this - 1995 Ford Aspire
By wiiz - January 10 - 2:19 pmI rented a Ford Aspire once and decided it was the car I wanted to buy. Ive had this car 10 years. Replaced a clutch (60K miles), and have had the front end (outer tie rod, and L ball joint replaced just last year. I give it regular oil changes and keep the tires inflated. Except for this last year with the front end work, this has been a dream. 41+ mpg highway, 34 city. Quiet, and small enough to fit into even the smallest parking spaces. The hatch is roomy - its like a clown car on the inside! I can get so much stuff in it its crazy! I can drive in the snow when bigger 4WD vehicles cant. Its 13 (near 14) years old, and I dont intend to get rid of it any time soon. Yay for me.

Aspire resurrected - 1995 Ford Aspire
By jermnc77 - June 20 - 4:01 pmI bought my Aspire from my cousin (after begging for years for him to sell it to me). It had 163K on the motor at the time. Nine (k) later, the motor finally gave out. I have since had a new motor installed and worked over most of the parts. I dont know what I would do w/out it now! I got 38mpg city and 41mpg highway (easy driving/no AC on)!! I wouldnt hesitate to find another Aspire and get it back on the road too!

By four wheels - August 3 - 9:26 pmI had a five speed Ford Aspire and it went about 39-40 mpg. It was peppy in the city and adequate on the highway, also it was fun to drive. Id recommed it to save gas.

By warlocke - October 10 - 8:19 pmI have had the car 3 months and i love it to death. I will not sell it and will drive it till it blows up lol. Runs strong at 130k+ miles still getting 25-35mpg city/highway respectively.

Great MPG car! - 1995 Ford Aspire
By Bill - September 4 - 12:21 pmPurchased this car used at 72k miles. No mechanical problems in last 5 years. Just regular maintenance. Great gas mileage at 36 highway, with no air conditioning, about 28 in town. Air conditioning really lowers the gas mileage. Not the most attractive and no power steering, but beats high car payments and always starts.

Good Car - 1995 Ford Aspire
By kat - March 19 - 12:39 amThis is a fun little car. Great gas mileage (40mpg). Bought it used and has been Super reliable, Not had "any" problems, not replaced anything except tires and wipers. Handles well and good power and good brakes. Kinda funny looking from the outside (wife calls it an egg with wheels), but roomy and comfortable on the inside.

By DSS70 - July 4 - 2:00 amAC DIED AT 32K SPEEDOMETER BROKE SHORTLY AFTER. REPLACED EXHUST FUEL PUMP IGNITION SPEEDOMETER ALL BEFORE 90K HAVE SUFFERED 5 YRS NO AC BECAUSE THEY DIDNT STAND BEHIND THE CAR. MPG 35cty/40hwy MUCH LOWER THAN EXPECTED AFTER 5 Yrs WITH METRO, A MUCH BETTER CAR.
