  • Comfortable and Reliable - 1997 Ford Aerostar

This vehicle has been virtually trouble free. The AWD makes it unstickable in the snow and gives great traction on slick boat ramps. The interior is spacious and comfortable (Im 65" and have plenty of head and leg room). The optional captains chairs keep the kids from fighting on long trips and the extended length holds plenty of cargo. Fuel economy has been 19 mpg all around (3 mpg less when towing my 17 ft runabout). If Ford Motor Company still made Aerostars, Id be first in line to order another.

This auto has never been a problem. We change the oil every 3,000 miles. The only repairs has been brakes, tires, battery, air-condition.

  • FIRES IN FORD AEROSTARS!!!!!!!!!!! - 1990 Ford Aerostar

My sister had a Ford Aerostar and it caught FIRE.Followed by that the transmission BLEW UP, AND THE AC WENT OUT. I would never recommend this van to anyone. It doesnt compare to any of the Japanese or European vehicles.TALK ABOUT UNSAFE, IF YOU GO TO, www.highwaysafety.com,you can clearly see that the airbag didnt inflate all the way, and the stearing broke off and landed in the dummys lap. This was a 40 mph crash!!!!!

This vehicle has never ever given any problems since day one. I would definitely buy another Aerostar if Ford still made them.

  • Great van, great value and versatility - 1996 Ford Aerostar

This van continues to impress, doing everything we could ask of it and much more. We haul kids, dogs, home improvement supplies, LOADS of groceries, tons of vacation stuff, and all without a complaint, a whimper, or a problem of any kind. It isnt fancy yet its remarkably comfortable. If you change the oil every 3000 miles and change the other fluids and belts on time, the Aerostar will never die. It has few drawbacks and many, many virtues that vans which cost many thousands more cannot compete.

All I can say is this is the greastest van Ive ever owned, I have the AWD version, plenty of towing power.

  • Has served our family well...mostly - 1997 Ford Aerostar

You have to realize this is not a vehicle to have unless you are willing to have repairs done. Weve had a minor transmission problem and heating system glich. The car has done well for family use, but we have not abused it either. We are obsessive about maintenance which also helps. This vehicle is a good low up-front cost rather large minivan, but dont expect trouble free operation, it is a FORD>
