Cheaper to give away instead of fix - 1993 Ford Aerostar
By GaveItAway - March 23 - 2:00 amIn 90,000 miles over 9 years I had to fix the air conditioning three times (very expensive!), the ignition lock failed, the power steering pump failed, the brakes had to be redone twice, the power windows would not lower the windows fully without me pushing down on the glass, the sliding door would occasionally jam in the open position. I finally donated the van to charity because it was cheaper than fixing the A/C one more time!

Aerostar - 1991 Ford Aerostar
By JayCee - March 22 - 2:00 amBought van with 60,000 miles. Drove it for another 100,000 miles. No major problems. Great vehicle. Last year made 1997. Most for sale have over 100,000 to 200,000 mi, so it shows they last.

Aerostar Workhorse - 1993 Ford Aerostar
By Tie, Rod - March 7 - 2:00 amThis van just wont quit! It is a true workhorse. I would buy another one if Ford would not make it look like a delivery truck. With the seats removed the space is great. Moved almost my entire house(except the big stuff) with loads in the van. Replaced thermostat, and routine maintenance. No major repairs

No Major problems - 1990 Ford Aerostar
By Coke - February 10 - 2:00 amI bought this van used in 1993 with 19,000 km on it. Since then the major repairs have been a starter and an air conditioning compressor, but in the 10 years I have owned it I have spent less than $1000 in repairs. A workmate has a 1998 Chevy Venture and spent $1300 in 1 repair job alone, Ill keep my Ford thankyou.

No problems - 1997 Ford Aerostar
By Lefty - February 4 - 2:00 amMost trouble free vehicle I have ever owned. Now have 102,000 mi. No mechanical failures. Just normal maintenance, and even that Ive slacked off on. Took the beast on a 4,000 mile road trip with 93,000 on the ticker. Flawless, safe highway driving. Got an amazing 23 mpg on the open road. If you can pick one up with modest miles on it, do it.

94 Extended Aerostar - great value - 1994 Ford Aerostar
By Remlap - December 30 - 2:00 amThis van has been an excellent value for our family. Plenty of leg room and cargo space for traveling/camping with all 4 of my six foot guys! Very dependable car, Ive been driving it for almost 8 years and its never broken down.

Best for what it is - 1996 Ford Aerostar
By sbmackie - December 22 - 2:00 amWhich is a family hauler par excellence. Cant find a new one that holds as much. Family transpo chief wouldnt go for one of the newer, "prettier" vans...had to be an Aerostar. Got 196K out of our 89 (did a tranny at 165k, but who cares?)and was still tight when we sold it. It is a Ford--when it does break, it is more expensive to fix then GM products. However, it is much more pleasurable to drive then the Safari/Astro (IMHO). Like alot of other Aerostar owners, I wish I could buy a 2003...
