Overview & Reviews
The Jeep/Eagle division was formed in 1988 shortly after Chrysler bought the American Motors Corporation in 1987.
At the time, Detroit brands like Chrysler were trying to fend off increasing sales by import brands with the creation of their own import-style sales divisions. Eagle began with the Renault-influenced products developed for AMC, the Eagle Premier and the Eagle Medallion. The rest of the division's portfolio was filled out by vehicles from Mitsubishi, the Japanese company that had long been Chrysler's partner in the importation of small, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Jeep sales gave some energy to the Eagle division, but once Chrysler broke off the sport-utility brand and made it available to its own dealers as the SUV boom began in the 1990s, the Eagle brand quickly foundered. Chrysler announced the end of the Eagle brand in November 1997 and the last Eagle Talon, a badge-engineered version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, came off the assembly line shortly thereafter.

Enjoyable and reliable car - 1996 Eagle Vision
By fenceme2 - December 16 - 12:20 pmI have owned my TSI for 10 years now and have no serious complaints. It has been a very reliable car virtually zero problems with no time in the shop except for routine maintenance. Its very peppy and fun to drive with a nice firm handling suspension unusual in large American cars of the time. Both the interiors and exteriors barely show their age and it is still a stylish new looking car after all these years.

AWD Bliss - 1997 Eagle Talon
By DarkPhoenix - November 24 - 12:18 pmBeing a previous owner of DSMs, this is by far the best one ever built. Not only is it a competent handling car in dry weather, it handles even better in inclement weather. Its a little loud at anything above 60mph, and there are a few rattles in the interior, but what do you expect for a 10 year old car. The turbo spools nice and quick, never leaving me itching for power. The ride is one of the best for a sport coupe of its caliber. The fact that it can hang with cars costing thousands more, and still return excellent fuel economy, makes this a great car!

Hate to sell - 1995 Eagle Talon
By gonzo - September 10 - 2:34 pmI have absolutely no complaints about this car, its just time to get a new car. Well, maybe one complaint, it is difficult to fit more than 3 people in the car comfortably, eg long trips. Smooth drive, great air conditioner, power windows, locks and many other amenities made you feel like you were in a luxury sports car.

Better than a Timex - 1997 Eagle Vision
By brian - September 1 - 9:57 pmI bought this car when it had 83,000 miles on it and it was 5 years old. I feel it is the most reliable car I have ever owned. 202,000 miles with regular maintenance. It does wear out front rotors quickly, Ive replaced them 3 times. The only repair I have made is a new serpentine belt and a radiator. A/C has a slow leak but its nearly 10 years old. I love this car, it accelerates well, rides smooth and has plenty of interior room.

Great Talon - 1991 Eagle Talon
By Fitz - March 15 - 11:44 pmSporty, zippy car. Its been very reliable for me and still running strong at 184,000 mi. Standard timing belt issues -- I didnt change at 75k when my mechanic told me to change and spent $1800 for my stupidity. At this age, finding a good source of used parts is key, as you will need to replace them.

a gem that sells cheap - 1993 Eagle Talon
By msu - January 7 - 9:15 pmI got this car early 2003 for $1,300. My first car, I knew nothing about driving before this purchase. Now I have driven it for 3 yrs, still runs very well, and ride is comfortable and fun. It has 175K miles and no major mechanical problems. The only money I paid after purchase was the reasonable maintenance cost. People around me tend to believe only Japanese cars get you high mileage and reliability. While I believe they are wrong! In fact, myself and some other friends learned how to drive stick shift on this car, what a deal!
