Overview & Reviews
The Jeep/Eagle division was formed in 1988 shortly after Chrysler bought the American Motors Corporation in 1987.
At the time, Detroit brands like Chrysler were trying to fend off increasing sales by import brands with the creation of their own import-style sales divisions. Eagle began with the Renault-influenced products developed for AMC, the Eagle Premier and the Eagle Medallion. The rest of the division's portfolio was filled out by vehicles from Mitsubishi, the Japanese company that had long been Chrysler's partner in the importation of small, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Jeep sales gave some energy to the Eagle division, but once Chrysler broke off the sport-utility brand and made it available to its own dealers as the SUV boom began in the 1990s, the Eagle brand quickly foundered. Chrysler announced the end of the Eagle brand in November 1997 and the last Eagle Talon, a badge-engineered version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, came off the assembly line shortly thereafter.

Buyer Beware - 1991 Eagle Talon
By See See - January 11 - 2:00 amI bought my car used and it always had a crappy tranny. I had my tranny work done under an aftermarket warrenty. Now it is in the shop getting the engine rebuilt and the syncros replaced in the tranny. The belt under the "bottom" of the timing belt screwed me up, so inspecting the timing belt doesnt really matter (in my case). I found a shop that works on nothing but Talons so that says it all but at least they will build a decent setup. Just in time for me to sell it.

Been Surprising Reliable - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Hklee - January 8 - 2:00 amAs I stated, I am surprised at how well the car has been driving. I have had almost 0 maintenance problems for 60K. It is currently at 100500k miles. Though I have read reviews on its electrical problems and so forth, I have had few problems with it.

Factory cant fix - 1998 Eagle Talon
By watercrit - December 26 - 2:00 amSpitzer dodge (Lakewood), the dealer who Chysler insisted I keep taking the car to for repairs to their incompetent warranty work never did repair all the car problems. The anti-locks dont work again, they damaged the wiring harness causing additional problems, feul guage doesnt read correctly, etc. They couldnt even adjust the alternator belt. You could here it in the showroomwith the car parked in the street and the service manager insisted that was normal. Engine and handling are good. Brakes have been serviced twice due to rotor surface peeling away.

A Great Little Car - 1993 Eagle Summit
By Joe101286 - December 22 - 2:00 amMy car may not be the fastest or the flashiest, but for being 10 years old this thing looks like it could be a 1996. It runs perfectly, the body has kept up excellently, the interior is mint, and it really says something about the car when after 10 years and 120K miles, the thing runs perfectly.

This Eagle still fies high!! - 1992 Eagle Summit
By twilasangel - December 22 - 2:00 amOut of many economic vehicles I have owned, the Eagle is by far the best! Repairs may cost a bit more for the Eagle, however, you pay for what you get. All mitsubishi motors if maintained, are die hards. Chryslers sleek look and wide wheel base (For a small sized car) make this car a dream to drive. Our 1992 Eagle Summit 4 door sedan, with A/C, has 249454km on the odometer. Still purrr-ing like a kitten, we travel on for next-to-little expense.

k - 1993 Eagle Summit
By susiepie - December 13 - 2:00 amBought this car around 1999 with 30,000 miles on her. Somethings wrong with it like idle air control motor, and the seatbelt motor went out-raw deal-manufacturer called a recall on switch, they fixed it, but since the switch stuck it burnt out my motor which isnt recalled. Seat belt motor quoted $1000 to fix!!

AWD Fun - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Tony Cummins - December 10 - 2:00 amThis is an absolute awesome car to own. I wish that I had the ability to buy one new. The performance is awesome (although I have added to it through the help of the aftermarket) Still, a great performer stock. Great traction in bad weather. The interior styling just wraps around the driver (although the gear shift in the manual blocks part of the radio in 5th gear)

Awesome Car - 1996 Eagle Talon
By TALON7684 - December 9 - 2:00 amThis is a very powerful, fast, fun car. The 2.0L turbo/intercooled engine throws you into your seat, and makes people regret their bad comments towards 4-cylinders. The car corners like a dream, never slides.

Nice driver - 1995 Eagle Vision
By RockinRon - December 4 - 2:00 amReplaced transmission at 95,000 kms, while is going again at 175,000 kms. Had starter problems, control module and strut problem. Gets 29-32 mpg while rides beautifully. Not worth anything now with Eagle line discontinued. Engine seems solid.
