Overview & Reviews
The Jeep/Eagle division was formed in 1988 shortly after Chrysler bought the American Motors Corporation in 1987.
At the time, Detroit brands like Chrysler were trying to fend off increasing sales by import brands with the creation of their own import-style sales divisions. Eagle began with the Renault-influenced products developed for AMC, the Eagle Premier and the Eagle Medallion. The rest of the division's portfolio was filled out by vehicles from Mitsubishi, the Japanese company that had long been Chrysler's partner in the importation of small, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Jeep sales gave some energy to the Eagle division, but once Chrysler broke off the sport-utility brand and made it available to its own dealers as the SUV boom began in the 1990s, the Eagle brand quickly foundered. Chrysler announced the end of the Eagle brand in November 1997 and the last Eagle Talon, a badge-engineered version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, came off the assembly line shortly thereafter.

Fun, Reliable Car - 1997 Eagle Talon
By Deelio - December 23 - 2:00 amThis was my first brand spankin new car and its been the best car that I have owned. I have had no major problems with the car since the 6 years that I have owned it. It could use a paint job but other than that my car is still like new. The car is very fun to drive and handles the road well.

Wow - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Raven_Other Big Bird - December 23 - 2:00 amI thought this car would be nice with it wicked good looks and its turbo awd feature. The ball bearing went out, that was the first 1000 dollars spent. Next the transmission was shallow and needed work, another 1000, i have 45000 miles on the talon, but it is ready to go, the turbo went and that will be about 1000 again. This was all within 4 months. So once one thing goes wrong it all goes wrong unless you like spending money for a car, I would recommend another turbo car if that is what you are after

Shes a HOT lady & FUN, too! - 1995 Eagle Talon
By sarahsue - December 20 - 2:00 amThis vehicle makes driving fun and exciting. The sleek lines and sporty look put it above and beyond any of its competition for 1995.

Red Talon ESI - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Eagle Driver in PA - December 17 - 2:00 amI bought my Eagle because of its looks and a reasonable price. Ive driven it for 3 years without too many problems save the ball joint that broke 2 weeks before it was recalled. Anti lock brakes were the first to go and now theres a light on the dash all the time. There is also an oil leak which I suspect has something to do with the head gasket. Interior is snug, with ne real back seat to speak of. Interior construction is cheap cheap cheap. Hard plastic dash basic seats. Radio did not work when headlights were on and I replaced it. Gets good mileage and Is not too bad for 2 people to travel in. Good going to work car.

echhhhh - 1995 Eagle Summit
By Torie - December 13 - 2:00 amI bought this car in June. By August, it was leaking oil. Then it started to leak antifreeze. The power steering and ac belt continually broke and no one could figure out why any of this was happening. It went kaputt in November.

1992 Eagle Talon Non Turbo - 1992 Eagle Talon
By rob6900 - December 2 - 2:00 amOver all this car has been very good to me. I have had to do basic maintenance and a few bigger things like the timing belt and a valve job...but that can be expected at 260000 km. Its great

Purple Vision - 1995 Eagle Vision
By stormydazetn - November 30 - 2:00 amI bought the car at about 145,000 miles and it now has 180,000. Had to replace water pump, headlights, and there is a problem with the wireing harness to the cooling fans which can be fixed by bypassing the fuse box in the car to the one in the motor compartment. The transmission just went out but only the clutch part not the gears. The A/C went out at about 170,000.

Love it - 1990 Eagle Talon
By mleger - November 25 - 2:00 amIve owned my Talon for 4 years now, and am really happy with the performance of the car, and its reliability. Its a ton of fun to drive in all weather conditions, and still looks good 14 years after it was first released. I have replaced the turbo, not an inexpensive thing to replace, but other than that, no other major repairs.

Shes Mine til the Wheels Fall Off!! - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Lydia - November 21 - 2:00 amMy Talon TSI was my first new car. I bought her in 95 fresh out of college and am still driving her today. My new family status forced my to buy an SUV but I continue to drive this car to work (100 miles round trip). My odometer reads 189K and I have NEVER had engine work performed! And shes never left me stranded. Regular oil changes, tune ups every 50K and 92+ Octane ONLY! has keep my girl rolling for 8 years now. I average 27 mpg even with the turbo- of which I take FULL advantage. I gave up comfort of ride for the incredible handling- not a bad trade. A one owner car is what shell always be!!
