transmission - 1995 Eagle Talon
By killdatalon - May 30 - 11:35 pmI bought this car with the intention of a reliable car well I got the car with around 85,000 miles and I thought huh should be good low miles just getting broke in. Nope that was not the case bout two months of driving timing belt timing gears and water pump all at one time. Then bout two weeks later the master cylinder for clutch started leakin. I was like ok there should be any more problems for a while then bout 8 months after purchase the trans blew a hole in the side of it I was like noway well I got one out of junk yard for 500 bucks and again 5 months later the same happened again all I have to say is the car was probably a good little car when it was new but if you by one used beware.

9 years and still good - 1995 Eagle Talon
By yuba4 - July 26 - 2:00 amIve owned about 10 cars before this one, and they all left me wanting for something or other. This car has been extremely satisfying and exactly what I wanted until now when its a little small for a family of four. Problems have been minor - a couple of recalls and a sensor but thats about it. Rate 10/10 in ownership experience.

2 Fast 2 Expensive - 1995 Eagle Talon
By MTWOLLET - March 1 - 2:00 amI Have a TSI AWD with 109,000 on it I bought the car in 08/03 and maybe four months later the Clutch Master Cylinder and slaves were replaced $600. The only annoying minor problem I have is the oil return line leaks coming from the turbo. For me gas milage sucks 16-18 mpg since due to upgraded fuel pump and T-28 Turbo along with a diffrent air intake with stock intercooler pipes removed , right now the top boost I can crank is 20lbs he he. Its will also be coming up on a timing belt and H2O Pump eeek. If your looking for something with affordable repairs decide carefully, but as with any car their is nothing certian....

Shes Mine til the Wheels Fall Off!! - 1995 Eagle Talon
By Lydia - November 21 - 2:00 amMy Talon TSI was my first new car. I bought her in 95 fresh out of college and am still driving her today. My new family status forced my to buy an SUV but I continue to drive this car to work (100 miles round trip). My odometer reads 189K and I have NEVER had engine work performed! And shes never left me stranded. Regular oil changes, tune ups every 50K and 92+ Octane ONLY! has keep my girl rolling for 8 years now. I average 27 mpg even with the turbo- of which I take FULL advantage. I gave up comfort of ride for the incredible handling- not a bad trade. A one owner car is what shell always be!!

Reliable Performance with a Backseat - 1995 Eagle Talon
By ASchell - May 30 - 2:00 amI purchased this car Jan 1 2000. The only problem I ever experienced was the ABS pump froze-up, $950 to replace, and that was at 95k miles. After we had our first child I had no problems with his carseat fitting in the rear seats, which was great. Turbo power is great for passing on the interstate!
