Satisfied so far - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By sabrina - August 13 - 7:20 pmI bought my 98 Dodge Stratus 3 years ago and have had slim to no problems with it. I have had to have the fan belt tightened, and at around 90k miles I had to have new spark plugs and wires, thats it. It is good on gas and is a smooth ride. I will probabaly get another Dodge.

Great car - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By Dean - June 29 - 6:13 pmI now have 90k miles on my Stratus and have had only one problem so far, and thats the head gasket leaking oil, which seems to be the norm for this car. Its fun to drive and looks good. I love this car, and am thinking about getting a new one.

Been a good car for us. - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By Udslash - January 22 - 2:00 amWe bought this car after we returned home from overseas/ARMY. Paid 8K for it used with 33k miles. It has been a great reliable car! At about 50k miles the main rear seal/head gasket had to be replaced. It was under warranty though..so no big deal. While living in L.A. I replaced the brake pads 6 or 7 times from freeway driving plus I had to have my rotors respun twice & then replaced. HORRIBLE brakes obviously. You definately need to buy high performance/carbon metallic to keep pads on this car for any length of time. Car has been from Miami to L.A. & back. + towed a U-haul trailer from Dallas to Miami. 130,000 miles to date...still going!!!

Why such a bad Head Gasket - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By Ziggy99 - December 31 - 2:00 amI have been happy with the car except for the engine work required. Head Gasket failure at 80K was rediculous even with reqular maintenance. (Major failure came after coolant and oil change at the dealer.) Did they cover it under a recall no because i had more than 50k on the car. If it wasnt for the big ticket repair bills i would be very happy with the car. Nice interior (best in its class if you ask me)

98 Stratus - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By 98stratus - December 23 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle when I turned 17, its a good reliable car to drive, the handling is decent. I have so far replaced the brakes, the headgasket (under warranty), and the tires... around 70K miles... the car now has 95000.. I now plan on trading it in soon for an Eddie Bauer Explorer. All and all its a good reliable car!

Please Fix The Gasket Problem - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By paulf - December 22 - 2:00 amI have 107,511 miles on my 1998 Stratus. I bought it before it even had the chance to even hit the lot and have put every mile on it. I havent had any mechanical problems at all except for the oil mixing with the antifreeze. All Ive had done to it, besides routine maintenance was change the timing belt at 100,000 miles. I must admit that even with the head gasket problem, It has not been a bad car. I would recomend it. Plus it looks great.

A great sedan - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By Tim Walters - June 3 - 2:00 amI have 101,000 miles on my 1998 Stratus ES. I bought it as a program car and have put many miles on it. I havent had any mechanical problems at all. All Ive had done to it, besides routine maintenance, is a replaced windshield (rock from road), New trans. gasket that was leaking (it was due for service anyway).

I really like this car! - 1998 Dodge Stratus
By okcKev - April 2 - 2:00 amIve owned 22 cars so far, this one has been my favorite. Its looks are deceiving, it has a lot more room than youd expect. The car has been very reliable. I still have no leaks, squeaks or rattles. I avg. 23mpg combined city/hwy and 32mpg hwy driving (2.4L 4cyl). I will probably buy another Stratus when its time to replace this one. I presently have 60K miles on it and only routine maintenance has been required to date.
