Chrysler and Dodge have restyled most vehicles this year to bring out similarities and cohesiveness among the Chrysler group cars. To that end, the Stratus sedan receives a new front fascia, and R/T sedans get a monochromatic grille. Sedan interior changes include the addition of steering wheel-mounted audio controls and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, along with new door panels, new seat fabric and three new interior choices. Two new 16-inch wheel options, plus two new exterior colors have been added as well. Also this year, Stratus sedans without optional antilock brakes receive a downgraded braking system with rear drums in place of discs. On the plus side, traction control is now available when combined with antilock brakes. A manual transmission is no longer available. Changes to the coupe are minimal. The interior features a new "Satin Silver" finish on the center stack bezels, and door accents.

  This is the 3rd in the chrysler family ive owned, i last had a 1996 stratus se and this is essentially the same car with a new sharper image and if memory serves me right, the same motor with a little more pep to it. Handles curves as well as my 96 Sebring LXi and the sunroof is a great feature.

  Wet Floor Boards - 2004 Dodge Stratus

  Love the car, fun to drive good gas mileage. Unfortunately passenger floor board keeps getting standing water, sometimes so much you cant see the carpeted floor. Dealer thinks its A/C hasnt been able to fix the problem yet. Anyone else have this problem?

  The only problem I had was when I first purchased the car. Made way too much road noise especially on cold start. After being at the dealerships service dept. for about 4 or 5 days they found out my engine mounts were loose.

  MY wife likes to think of this car as hers, becasue the Honda Accord we traded in for it was mostly driven by her. Unlike our Honda however, this car is FUN to drive. So every morning theres a little tug-of-war over who gets to drive the Stratus and who has to take our SUV. Its come down to a strategy of who park behind who and who leaves first in the morning. Its amazing how many late night trips to the video store and Wal-Mart this struggle has generated.

  I wrecked my 2004 stratus after only having it 3 weeks.The airbags did not deploy with a front collision traveling at 40 mph. that did 10,000.00 worth of damage.All four motor mounts broke.The dealer said they are supposed to do that in case of a front collision but i wonder if thats why the airbags didnt deploy.

  So far so good. Its an attractive vehicle with just enough pizazz to be interesting. Good value. Great gas mileage. Solid feel when driving.
