  • A descent 5 seater for 6 plus folks! - 1993 Dodge Spirit

For an older vehicle with a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine it gets great mileage for its size and weight, especially when laden. It is great for puttering around town, plenty of low end torque, but the engine runs out of steam past 75mph. Cruises great at 60-65mph and is fairly quiet. RPM at 62mph is 2500, right in the middle of the torque curve. It has 116 000kms (not miles) on the vehicle and no major problems as of yet, just had a fresh coat of paint put on and it looks sharp.

  • Nothing like the Spirit - 1992 Dodge Spirit

I have had this car since 94,000 miles - it has caused me minor problems, nothing out of ordinary from an old and aged car... very reliable, been through a lot. When Im in the spirit, all is well. Ive found when I take care of the spirit, the spirit takes care of me. It really has been reliable, but you should stay on top of its normal maintenance.

  • She has done well by me - 1994 Dodge Spirit

I bought my Spirit with 17,600 miles on it and put on an average of 40,000 a year. I had the good transmission, but had the leaky head gasket with the 2.5 and replaced that twice. Only 1 CV joint ever went out. Its a blast to drive in town and ran well on the Interstate. With almost 250K miles and an overheating issue that I cannot resolve I have finally said goodbye to the probably one of the best cars I haved ever owned. I attribute the long life to highway miles and Castrol Syntec.

Smll wheelbase yet roomy interior with plenty of trunk room.

  • Solid Spirit - 1995 Dodge Spirit

Bought this car out of the showroom as one of the last Spirits built. 3.0 L V-6 has gobs of torque and launches of the line like a 5.0 Mustang, but runs out of steam early. Gas mileage is great (25 mpg avg) for a torquey V-6. Comfortable, reliable and absolutely no rust!!!! Not bad for an 8 year old car.

  • Great- but . . . - 1993 Dodge Spirit

This is a vehicle of better than average build quality except for the 3 speed (auto lockup convertor) automatic. Had to have first rebuild at 85000 mi. and then second rebuild at 150000 mi. Otherwise this has been an enjoyable car to own.

  • Very Nice - 1990 Dodge Spirit

This was my first car that I bought a little less than a year ago and I have not had any problems at all. When I bought it, it only had 55,000 miles. The A/C is awesome and the only maintainence I have needed has been a normal oil change.

  • A pretty good car - 1994 Dodge Spirit

Aside from the well-documented transmission problems (Im on my 2nd rebuild in 103k miles!) this is a very comfortable car to drive. It gets good gas milage and is easy to park. At this point in their lives, a handymans special.

  • an ok car for the $$ - 1992 Dodge Spirit
    By -

I bought this car 2 yrs ago with 106000 miles on it. Its at 124000 miles and starting to fall apart. Transmission and engine problems. I would recommend getting something newer, but its ok if its all you can get.

  • dodge spirit - underrated - 1990 Dodge Spirit

this car isnt beautiful, but does everything well and the five-speed works just fine. A dream to drive on the highway. And a helluva bargain.
