Best car ever - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By Andy - September 9 - 12:04 pmI bought my 94 Shadow in November of 94 with 12,000 miles on it. The following fall it drove 100 miles (round trip) per day to college 5 days a week. It was in a rollover accident in winter of 96. Rolled it back onto the wheels and drove it into body shop. Continued to drive until 2000 when it was sold to my brother for college and had not needed one repair in its 125,000 mile life. Was sold back to me in 2002 for a daily driver work car at which time I drove it up to 200,000 miles replacing only hoses at 185,000 miles. Still didnt use 1 drop of oil between changes. It was only retired due to a severe accident that tore the engine off the motor mounts. The engine still ran after.

Race - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By moparman - June 12 - 3:30 pmI bought this car already torn down, i am using this car to race at a circle track. The car is completely stock no improvements. It is very fast (won the first and only race so far) I race against people who put 2 grand into the car with performance stuff i bought the car for $450 and have put about $250 into it but that is expected with a race car. Only thing Ive had to replace was rack and pinion and a starter(plugs and wires)

My Shadow Caries Me. - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By Carl French - March 29 - 8:25 pmI have enjoyed my Shadow and have found it to be very reliable and economical. I travel a lot of highway miles and it has never let me down when I needed it. It even survived a break enter and theft by a young car thief.

By SaraB - April 8 - 2:00 amIt has been a great car for me. I have owned it for over a year now and not once has it broken down on me, nor have I had any machanical problems with it. Its a great for a first car. Great on gas I only spend about $20 a month on gas actually.

Solid car- 9 years, no major repairs - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By TJ2 - September 13 - 2:00 amI bought this car new in April 1994 and have had no major repairs. My car has a manual transmission with overdrive and has required no major repairs at 95,000 mi. Odometer and speedometer dont function when outdoor temperatures exceed 90 F, but in Oregon that doesnt happen much. Automatic seatbelt has continued to function well. Driver side mirror has come out of its track periodically since it was new. (fixed 3 times under dealer warranty, fixed at home since then. Our fixes last longer.) Good handling in rain/snow and starts in sub-zero weather.

Decent Car, short on power - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By Pat D. - May 29 - 2:00 amHad problems with the 3 speed auto, had to be rebuilt after 60K miles. Also had a blown head gasket at 40K. Base 2.2 is already underpowered (93hp/2500lbs weight not good) and the car probably did no better than 14 second 0-60s new, although it was rather responsive above 60mph in 3rd when accelerating without kicking down to 2nd. Handling also excellent for a cheap car, very little body roll and excellent grip even from puny P185/70TR14s. Radio sucks, speakers are decent sized (5 1/4 inch in the front, 5X7s in the back) but bass response weak, even with aftermarket head unit. Front seats fairly comfortable, back cramped (expected), and styling very nice.

Owned 2 so far. - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By Shaner - May 12 - 2:00 amI have owned 2 of these (actually 1 Shadow and 1 Duster). My wifes Shadow has been one of the best cars Ive owned. It has been a good, reliable car. It has 150,000 miles, the last 20k have been all short trips. It is still running great. Only major repair was the head gasket (which Im told is normal at 140k), other stuff has been general maintenance (brakes, battery, etc). My 94 Duster had some problems, but I bought that w/ 100k on it. Who knows who had it before??? I think it only goes to show that if you take care of car, itll last.

My Tank - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By kjane - January 11 - 2:00 amI bought my Shadow brand new in 94. It has been through many road trips 300+ miles, a couple of fender benders, harsh winters (-30)and hot summers (110) and all types of road conditions. It takes a licking and keeps ticking!!
