Best Economy Car Late 90s - 1999 Dodge Neon
By micweb - August 27 - 2:00 amSure, a Toyota or Honda might be more reliable, but a used 1999 Neon will be a lot cheaper. In reality, the 1999 Neon is highly reliable - they got all the bugs out of this car originally introduced in 1995. It rides and handles like a much bigger car - it is fast and safe. Good gas mileage too. The 3 speed automatic isnt as good - it needs the fourth speed. The 5 speed is great, like a sports car.

By jeffersonmin - August 19 - 2:00 amNo problems to date with this car. The interior on the Sport is so much more comfortable than the more basic models. Can do at least 110 MPH (DOHC engine in mine)if you want it to.

A fun Car - 1999 Dodge Neon
By scarter - July 15 - 2:00 amI love my Neon. Its pretty comfortable, reliable, and fuel efficient. Ive had no problems with it (other than replacing the battery)in the past 3 1/2 years. The only things that they could improve: more trunk space and there is only one mirror on the driver side visor. The passenger needs one too!! :)
