  • Better Than I Expected!!!! - 1995 Dodge Neon

I bought my 95 Neon in Dec. of 2008, Since then, except for routine tune- ups, I havent had one problem out of the car that I bought for 300.00. I have been to out of state 17 times in the past 6 months on business, the car has helped me make almost a quarter million dollars, and she is still ticking. So now im going to return the favor a let someone buy the car for 300 dollars.

  • 360,000 miles on engine! - 1995 Dodge Neon

My Dodge Neons engine came from another that was in a roll-over accident, so the engine currently has about 360k on it and still running strong. (updated head gaskets as soon as it started acting up) Its amazing how it gets the mileage of a pile of junk Ford Escort but the comfort and smooth ride of an Intrepid. Overall, a beautiful car. Just be sure if you buy one, its got updated head gaskets. Thats the only problem Ive had.

  • Love it but minor problems stink - 1995 Dodge Neon

Ive owned the car for about 4 months now and there are several problems that have driven me crazy trying to fix. All the seals on the windows are shot. My backseat carpet is constantly soaked. Reverse stalling.. sometimes in reverse the thing stalls. Struts gave out after 1 big bump! Annoying stereo setup (maybe not factory.. not sure about this) What I liked about this car. Very reliable. Nice gas mileage. Easy to fix. Fun to drive (especially on straightaways) Very good oil consumption...about 1/2 a quart every month keeps it at nice levels even with me beating the crap out of it. No broken lines yet. such as the brake, gas, or any others

  • Learned to appreciate it - 1995 Dodge Neon

Bought mine with about 150 K miles. Really didnt like it at first...its not exactly attractive, and it sometimes has a tiny feel. but it grew on me due to the reliability. So many quirks--trunk/back seat leak, weak dashboard, everything rattles, 3 speakers have gone out, meters give out, AC stinks (especially here in AZ), etc. But at the end of the day its done exactly what Ive needed it to do. No major problems, just a few things here and there. The acceleration is horrible (automatic) but the car handles amazingly. Ive had friends with new cars comment on it. Lasted longer than everyone elses 92-98 used cars even though people make fun of it. The little compact that could.

  • Cool little car - 1995 Dodge Neon

Well, this is a very fun car. The day after I bought it, it started blowing a fuse and shuting off on its own. I found out that one of the most common problems for the Neon is the O2 sensor wiring harness detatching. I had mine fixed and it cost $195.00, the auto electrician told me that most shops never tell you its some thing simple, they just fix the harness and charge you for a sensor! Beyond that one very badly timed breakdown, I would say this has been a great car. I love my Neon!

  • 106,000 strong and still going - 1995 Dodge Neon

I bought this as my first car back in may 2001. This can be a good first car for a teenager, college student or anyone looking for affordable transportation at a low price. The fuel economy is very good for this car. It has been very reliable for the 5 years that I have owned it so far. I had to replace the cylinder head gasket, rotors, brakes, electrical soleniod, and pcm. I regularly maintain it with oil changes, tire rotations, and tune ups. Even though certain things may break in this car, the maintenance costs sre very low. The acceleration is good and the braking and turning radius are good.

  • 180,000 miles and still running strong - 1995 Dodge Neon

I bought the car with 145000 miles on it, and all I had to replace was the head gasket. I bought some performance struts and lowering springs. The car carves corners like nothing. With only 132 hp, the car is pretty quick. I havent had any problems with this car and I plan to own it all the way to 200,000 miles! My only complaints are that it leaks oil, and the brakes stink, but upgrade them and it shouldnt be that big of deal. I love my Neon!

I think this car is a wonderful car if you are looking for something that is compact and good on fuel.

  • Great car for a cheap price - 1995 Dodge Neon

Great car for a cheap price. I purchased this car with 27K miles, now I have over 200,000 miles and it is still going strong. I have changed the head gasket once and had to replace a faulty turn signal switch, other then that, it has been a very solid car. Of course I change the oil on time and keep the tires in good shape. I still get over 35 miles per gallon on the freeway. My only complaint is the paint. It fell off in large chunks because of a bad base coat. I have asked the dealership to repaint it, but they refused. Hay, it only looks bad for Dodge, I do not care. I still drive this car about 1500 miles a month.

  • could be better.... - 1995 Dodge Neon

The two biggest problems with this car are the A/C and the Oxygen Sensor. Cant believe how many times they have each been repaired. I have completely given up on fixing the A/C because it is like throwing money out the window. But, the car is really fun to drive. Very zippy! And it does get good gas mileage. Currently pondering an expensive head gasket repair. I know I should just buy another car...
