This Year's Model Updates:

The popular Dodge Magnum remains essentially unchanged, but bright trim on the SXT's grille, doors and interior is new. The SXT now comes with standard foglights, and both the SXT and RT now have an optional rear-seat DVD player that flips up from the center console. Eighteen-inch wheels are now optional on the SXT and 17-inch machined aluminum wheels are offered on rear-wheel-drive versions. Later in the model year, the SXT's four-speed automatic transmission will be replaced with a five-speed unit.

Pros:
  • Aggressively handsome wagon body style, powerful Hemi V8, quiet ride, roomy interior, lots of safety features, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • Sluggish acceleration with base V6, too much hard plastic interior trim.

  • Mercedes design influence - 2006 Dodge Magnum

I love this car for design, price, drive, and Mega room. Never experienced driving a car with a Suv feel but luxerious smooth comfortable drive. The dash dials and lighting is similar to mercedes, round white and simple, very similar to my sisters mercedes and drives just as smooth.Great touring car also, cant hear the outside traffic, backseat console with cup holders, air and heat controls in back also, reading lamps.liftgate lifts without having to lift it.Lights all up,has extra ac adapters in the back for tailgating. All kinds of cubicles to store stuff, air curtain bags on windows and airbags in front. Safe front seat for kids, air bag shuts off for them. Has a Hot rod look mixed with a wagon

I have a Black RT that is fully loaded. Nav system and display set car into 21st century. Satellite radio a must. Dont skimp on the amenities. They set the car apart. Added 20" wheels and look out. This car makes heads turn- that is the goal right?

  • Great second life car - 2006 Dodge Magnum

I have been driving a Pontiac Sunfire (2) since 1996. With my kids grown, a sporty little 2 door was all I needed. Then came the grandkids. The came my mother and her wheelchair. There was NO WAY in a Sunfire. I love the Magnums look! It handles as easily as the Sunfire tho I have some concerns about winter driving in Ohio wtih a rear- wheel. I cant say eough abou the room. Ive ridden in the backseat and I wouldnt hesitate to go cross-country in it. Gas mileage 20 mpg city and fill up was a real shock to me. The absolute selling point was the pedals coming to me (at 54") and ease of handling. It gets a lot of stares and questions. I first said it when I bought it. Love at first sight!

  • Cool ride - 2006 Dodge Magnum

This car is a kick to own. It rides , handles and goes like no other wagon I have ever driven. Great traction control with the all wheel drive system. Works fantasitic in the snow. Tons of leg room both front and back. The steering wheel telescopes in and out but also tilts, combined with the power seats and pedals, its very easy to get a good driving position or change it on a long drive. We are getting 18 mpg around town and 24 on the highway. Not bad for 345 h.p. under your right foot. The look of the car is very deceptive. Looks like a chopped top but Dodge raised the window openings up . Friends and famliy who have been in the car cant belive the room it has inside.

  • 2006 Magnum RT AWD - First Review - 2006 Dodge Magnum
    By -

I have one of the first 2006 RT AWD to find its way to MA/RI. The car is simply awesome. I have only owned it for one week, but there is no question that the ride is equivalent to that of a $60K luxury sedan. The power....HEMI speaks for itself. Interior noise is virtually non- existent, unless of course you open the windows to hear the HEMI purrrrr through the dual exhaust. This is certainly not the Dodge of my parents generation. Cornering is solid around sharp turns on the interstate. Accelearation is smooth and decisive. Despite my short ownership, I had to let you all know about one thing- I got 5 "thumbs up" from other drivers on the first day!

  • I Like it! - 2006 Dodge Magnum

I have been watching the Magnum for some time now and have been so impressed. It was recently offered as a choice for our company vehicle, so I had to get it. I love the looks, room, quiet ride, and handling. I am at an age, with two kids and a business, that I need the wagon, but really do not want to drive "my Fathers Oldsmoblie"! Since mine is an SE (fleet car), I had no choice but to accept the 2.7 eng. It is adequate, but weak. The 3.5 should be the minimum engine for this size of car. Traction control and ABS was added. I run 35K business miles per year, plus personal miles and this car is fun and nice to drive. Overall, I love it, but wish that it had a bigger power plant.

  • Loving every minute of it - 2006 Dodge Magnum

My Magnum is just awesome. I love driving it. We have plently of leg room and it is very comfortable. The sound system is great. And then there is the Hemi. I dont worry about pulling out onto the interstate anymore. I just nail it and Im there with the rest of the traffic. I cannot say enough about my Magnum. I couldnt be happier. Thank you Dodge for such a wonderful experience.

  • The car Ive been waiting for - 2006 Dodge Magnum
    By -

The first time I saw the Magnum on TV I wanted it. The first time I drove the RT I bought it. Im 50 years old. I am thrilled by this car. The response is incredible. The power is impressive. It handles so well on the curves that you dont have to brake unless you are afraid. It takes a mountain pass like most cars go downhill. When I put pedal to metal it jumps like a 67 Camaro. Roadtrips are great. I love this car. I want muscle, but I need a station wagon. I am so happy with my RT that I no longer mourn my 67 Cutless w/the 350 and turbo 300 that some jerk in a Bravado creamed 6 years ago.

  • A sports car in drag. Fun, fun fun! - 2006 Dodge Magnum
    By -

We just received our 2006 RT/AWD Magnum. It is not for everyone though. The RT is an eye opening head turning ride. Very distinctive style not your mom and dads station wagon of old but a bona fide sports car in drag. Far more to it than meets the eye. The ride from the passenger view is very smooth without the over stuffed couch feel. Outstanding leg and head room. I am 63" and have more then enough room in all respects. Same goes for the drivers side. Driving it is a joy and brings a big smile when you accelerate into traffic. Gives the Japanese tuner notice stock American perfomance is back big time. With minor tweaks, will leave them floundering in all areas. Forget your WRX or Mustangs. Get an RT!
