Overview & Reviews
Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.
- Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
- Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

Love it! - 2005 Dodge Durango
By BJP - February 28 - 1:13 pmWe just switched over to the new Durango from a small convertible. I expected a lot of difficulty getting used to the much larger SUV, but instead Ive found it handles like a smaller car and just happens to have all the leg/head room my 6"7 husband needs to ride comfortably. The acceleration is incredible. I never wouldve thought such a large vehicle could move so well. We got a base model with only a couple minor upgrades, but I still feel like Im riding in class. The 6 CD changer is a great standard feature. The best part was the $8000 in rebates that made the price easier on the checkbook. When the lease is up I will definitely upgrade to the next model. Im hooked!

Luv My Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Tina - January 7 - 11:26 amMy husband & I think our Durango is GREAT! I had my fill of the minivan, after having 3 of them! They served us well but it was time to move on! We had driven other SUVs and nothing compared to the ride we get from our Durango! It handles great, looks great and is fun to drive! On the negative side, it is a gas hog, especially with gas price high as it is now, but I think it is work it!

Awesome vehicle - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Barry Dufoe - October 22 - 3:40 pmGreat vehicle to drive, with plenty of room. The Hemi runs spectacular, and mileage is better than the Trailblazer inline 6. I highly recommend it. Great body fit and finish. Perfect paint(silver). its the #1 SUV in looks/ interior. Chrysler guages are easy on your eyes. it has the most comfortable seats, and the front window is shaped so the sun is not in your eyes. Well done Dodge

Happy Dodge Owner - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Happy Dodge Owner - May 30 - 4:30 pmI have generally owned Fords. After the normal ups and downs of life, I decided to reward myself with a new vehicle. I had been researching for a year and half, looking at Explorers and Escapes, etc. I decided to take a visit to look at Dodge trucks since I have always liked the way they looked. I probably wouldnt have given the Durango a thought, but I really liked the redesigned look over the earlier versions. It is fun to drive and it gives me the leg room that I need. I settled for the standard model, because I prefered the color they had in stock! My only wish is that I had purchased the SLT with the 3rd row seat, running boards, steel rims, and moon roof! Otherwise, it is a joy!

Way to go Dodge - 2005 Dodge Durango
By dave - April 24 - 10:43 pmDodge really outdid themselves. I had the old Durango, which I loved. This one is far superior in ride, comfort, style, etc. They really made it comfortable with all the new amenities.

Durango LTD - 2005 Dodge Durango
By TIBBY - December 14 - 8:36 amI love the new "Hemi" Durango Ltd. The only things I would change about it would be the front fender and hood design, and on the interior, the length of seatbelts in the front. Im a big guy,but have never had a problem with the length of seatbelts in any vehicle except this one. Overall, Dodge hit a homerun with the "Hemi" Durango.
