Excellant choice in a family SUV if you need space, comfort, towing capacity, and a just plain fun to drive SUV for the price.

I purchased this 2004 Dodge Durango SLT with the 4.7 and only 20000 miles on it. I wanted a nice SUV but didnt want to give one of my legs to get one. I looked at Dodge dealers for a newer Durango but the 2004 models were $22,000 and up?? I bought mine for a unreal price of $16,995. NO JOKE! Nothing wrong with it a one owner. It was at a Toyota dealer so I got it cheap. I love the BUFF style and the HUGE appearance. I was worried about the gas mileage but towing a car dolly and a 2004 Pontiac Vibe I got 16MPG. Impressed. I have owned 120 cars (seriously) in 32 years of my life and this is one of my favorites. A great deal and reliable enough to pass on to my 10 year old son.

  • great suv,great price - 2004 Dodge Durango

The new Durango is great! I got the Hemi (5.7L not 4.7) and it will really move! The ride is quiet and handling is great. With the amount of snow we got this last winter, the this thing was unstopable. If you are looking for a great looking suv that will take you anywhere, the Durango is the best choice.

  • Astounding Value - 2004 Dodge Durango

Lots of utility and comfort for low price, $9,000 LESS THAN my 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer, and I received "friends and family" pricing on both. How does DCX do it? HEMI gas mileage on freeway was 19+ mpg @ 75 mph, after break in. Unique styling doesnt do much for us, but more people ask about liking the Durango than they ever did about the Expedition. Ride quality is much more compliant and smoother than old Durango, very "German" in character. Ive owned the BMW X5 4.4 sport and a Mercedes ML320 and find the Durango Limited to be up to par with these vehicles; the Durango cost $24,000 less than my 2000 X5. Not as roomy as the Expedition.

  • Totally Awesome! - 2004 Dodge Durango

This is my third Durango…after 80K in a ‘99 SLT Plus (5.9L) and 30K in a ‘03 R/T (5.9L). After one month, I have 2K in this HEMI Limited. Adding 20-inch chrome rims (after market) makes a big difference in style. I am still amazed at the rapid acceleration coming off a ramp to enter the expressway or passing traffic. Can effortlessly cruise 75+ mph with good control, low noise, and still comfortable ride. I was surprised to see almost an extra 2 mpg with the 5.7L HEMI (avg 14 mpg) over my previous ’03 R/T 5.9L (avg 12.5 mpg). Gas tank is bigger, so I can go almost an extra 30 or 40 miles before refill. New Durango = best choice for performance and looks.

  • Very Happy with Redesign - 2004 Dodge Durango

I had a 2000 Durango prior to this ans I am very pleased with the changes. The ride is very quiet and comfortable. A lot of the features make it very convenient. Split seating in the third row is a great option, car is much roomier than the previous model. I looked at a lot of different SUVs for about a year, the feature to price ratio is by far the best in the Durango. Got the Big engine as well. Yeah, its got a HEMI. Be careful, youll be going 85 before you know it and it feels like 50, engine feels like it is idling at that speed. Very Quiet. I think Dodge has a winner, by far the biggest bang for your buck in the new SUV market.

  • Excellent SUV - 2004 Dodge Durango

After lots of research, just bought LTD w/Hemi engine. Great styling, the ride is better than I expected (even my wife is impressed)and I do catch people looking at it. We traded an Exped. and considered an Explorer, but the Durango is definitely the better choice. I think the resale will be good once it becomes established in the market.

  • drives like a dream - 2004 Dodge Durango

I have only had it a month but I love it. It drives like a dream for an SUV. It has a good turning radius and lots of power. It is easy to put up and down the seats for hauling. I had my Dodge van for 9 years I expect to drive a Durango for a long time.

Ive got the Hemi - even though Edmunds does NOT have this as an option...the 2004 Tahoe would have been $8000 more with less power, convenience and OLD sluggish styling...The Durango does need more storage ability (pockets, etc.) and the third seat should come split with the ability to remove...all that said - I really (!!) like this SUV...

  • Best SUV - 2004 Dodge Durango

Quiet, with great handling. Powerful, with great sound Have only done routine maintenance in 28,000 miles and 9 months! 17 to 20 mpg with a Hemi.
