Loved it/ Now Hate it - 1998 Dodge Durango
By tr2 - August 2 - 2:00 amLoved this SUV for 4 years except for having to replace the window motors 3 times. Then it hit 70,000 m. Its been in the shop 4 times in 2 months. Now spent over $4,800 in repairs in the last 2 months. First the wiper motors and fuel pump. Then a rebuild of the transmission. Replacement of parts in the exhaust system that failed. Numerous other minor repairs. Looking at another $1,500 to fix the ABS system. Now hear theres problems with ball joints. This is ridiculous. All previous cars I owned (not Chryslers) stayed in good condition 10 years each. I am never getting another Chrysler product.

Durango Comments - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Durango Driver - July 10 - 2:00 amBuy the extended warranty if you plan on keeping this vehicle for awhile. This isnt due to things breaking frequently as much as it is the actual cost of some items to replace. Great styling and ride for an SUV. Lots of cargo room and good power with the smaller V8. Infinity sound system is awesome!! Ball joints have been replaced 4 times @ $1000 per visit. A/C problems started at 55000 miles and dealership cant figure it out.

Fun Truck to Drive - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Robert520 - June 23 - 2:00 amLove this SUV but I anticipated problems and was smart enough to buy extended warranty. Window lifts have been replaced 2 X per window, AC evaporator went out, battery died at 24 months, steering column replaced, seat track replaced (rocking chair syndrome), speed sensor, all four speakers and some other items to many to count. I still like the vehicle though and my wife thinks its junk. Whats you expect, she drives a Camry.

Love my Durango - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Sommer - June 19 - 2:00 amI absolutely love my Durango. I am not a big fan of dodge but, I love my truck. It is perfect for a family, it has plenty of room but its not too bulky. It doesnt drive like an SUV. I am very comfortable in it.

Maroon Durango - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Beckster - June 9 - 2:00 amI use to buy a new vehicle about every year. My 98 Durango is great. Ive had no mechanical problems, ride is comfortable, this is the only vehicle Ive ever owned where Ive been completely happy with it, even after 5 years (my main reason for holding on to it so long).

Happy so far - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Durango Driver - May 20 - 2:00 amHad my 1998 Durango about a year and half. It has been the best vehicle I have owned. It has some quirks (keyless entry does not work periodically), but it has been very dependable.

Green Durango - 1998 Dodge Durango
By Intellectual - May 14 - 2:00 amThis truck has never given me any problem in the 5 years Ive owned it other that the battery dying in the middle of a deer hunt. Gas mileage is fairly typical of other SUV owners Ive talked to, and it is tolerable if you keep your foot out of it.
