This Year's Model Updates:

Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
Cons:
  • Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

  • Im Glad I Got Rid of my Ford - 2005 Dodge Durango

I love my new Durango! The old body style was ugly but, this one is totally hot. Im the youngest person Ive ever seen driving one. I have a powerful V8, I dont think a V6 would be enough power for so much SUV. We love it.

Love my Durango, Its hemi makes it feel like a sporty vehicle gas mileage is bad..... 14 mpg per highway. Tows like a champ. Overall a great vehicle without the SUV feel.

  • Not great, not bad - just right - 2005 Dodge Durango

Purchased IN July 05, out the door at 28,500 with Employee discount, rebate etc ... Traded Eddie Bauer Expedition in. Miss all the do-dads from the Ford but its been a great truck so far. Should have gotten the 2 speed transfer but still works well in sand etc

  • Durango, gas hogger - 2005 Dodge Durango

I think that the Durango is a real nice looking vehicle. The only thing that I dont like is the gas mileage. The tag on the vehicle said that I would get 19 in city and 24 on highway. They lied. I only get 15 in the city and about 14.5 on the highway. I made this purchase thinking that the gas mileage was not the greatest but it was ok. Now if Id known that the gas mileage was 15 in city and 14.5 on highway, I would of looked for another vehicle. Im not happy with the Durango.

  • Awesome ride - 2005 Dodge Durango

I leased an 05 Durango SLT and this vehicle surpassed all my expectations. I used to drive a 2000 Cherokee, so this was a big jump in size and payment, or so I thought. The ride is exceptionally smooth and does not handle as big as it looks. In fact, I think its easier to maneuver than my Cherokee. Fuel economy isnt the best, but which SUVs is? And with employee pricing, I’m only paying $100 more a month with nothing out of my pocket. Definitely give it a look. Only dislikes are the 4.7 seems to take a while to get going, so I wish I got the Hemi. Other than that I think it’s a great value. Was comparing it to a 4runner and I think it beats it hands down.

Nice to drive, gas is trucks best friend, your enemy. Roomy with lots of cargo space.

  • Terrible Gas Mileage - 2005 Dodge Durango

Im A Newer 2005 Durango Owner, So My Experience With The SUV Is Limited, But I Am So Dissapointed With The Fuel Mileage, I Was Wondering How Many Other People Were Experiencing This Same Issue. I`ve Owned Many Vehicles, Mid. And Full Size, But None That Got 11 Mpg. !!.I Drive About 60% Hwy. And 40% City, And I`m Averaging 11 Mpg. I Drive Very Easy, And Baby My Vehicles. For The Most Part I Really Like The Durango So Far, But I`ve Seen Huge Ford Excursions And Hummer H2`s Get 14.5 Mpg. Avgerage. Dodge And My Dealership Gave Me The Lame Excuse That Mpg. Depends On How The Person Drives The Vehicle. If I Drive Any Easier,Mopeds Will Pass Me! I Hope By Some Miracle My Mpg.Increases At Some Point

  • Very Good vehicle - 2005 Dodge Durango

This is my first Dodge vehicle, and I can say I really like it. I found the Durango to have a funny look to it at first, however I have become accustom to it and now think it has a cool look. Coming form a Ford Explorer, I found the Durango handles and rides much better. I found the room inside to be very spacious and quite. I have the HEMI engine and it gives me unlimited power on the road ( I tow a trailer about 5,000lbs.) It is a gas hog, however that’s what you get for having the power. All in all, I have to say that I am very pleased with the Durango and would most likely buy it again.

I like the room, and design. I love the way it rides higher, and performance in the V6 is good. The bad side is the gas mileage, and its a little rough on the ride, but I expected that.

I like the room this Durango has, compared to the old style, which I owned before this one. I have three children, so the comfort, room, and safety factors are very important to me. I have been really satisfied with my Durango, and will probably purchase another one in the future.
