This Year's Model Updates:

Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
Cons:
  • Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

So far? This Dodge is great. I have had fun, feel safe and can only complain that the radio on/off switch is too easy to turn off with my hand on accident. Great truck!

  • Hats off to Dodge for the 05 Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango

After driving a 2003 Explorer for the past two years, the Durango is a dream vehicle. There is no comparison in the engine power, the Hemi is unsurpassed, and the quality and comfort of the interior is absolutly superior to Explorer. Im averaging 17.4 mi per gallon which is the same as the lesser engine in the Explorer. I took a real hit on the trade for the Explorer, but it was well worth it. You must test drive the 05 Durango with 5.7L Hemi.

hemi v/8 enough said, fit & finish perfect, after selling fords & chevys for 35 years & dealing with my customers complaints, plus buying & dealing with many many trips to the warrantie [service] dept. it is indeed a pleasure to own a durango, my 1st was a 01 loaded durango slt, to harsh a ride, not as comfortable as I would like, what a treat the 04 is. the sound system is awsome, I ordered the upgrade 6 CD with sub-woofer, the transmission is so smooth you hardly ever notice it shift, other than poor mileage [all suvs] in this size get poor mileage, so why whine about it, I say get your hands on a new durango, 04 or 05 & be like my wife & I, just enjoy enjoy enjoy

Good design. Lots of power .Fun to drive. Mileage not so good, but about as expected. More maneuverable than earlier Durango, even though it is larger.

  • GET ALL THE OPTIONS INCLUDING THE HEMI - 2005 Dodge Durango

Were previous Durango owners but the 05 Limited Hemi is a complete turnaround from the 03 we owned. Its comfortable, its roomy, the DVD is a must have. The Navigation is awesome, the Sirius Satelite is great, and Dodge even pays for the 1st year! The Hemi is AWD. We have all of the options and dont regret it one bit. It rides smooth, handles great, looks sharp and WE LOVE IT! The gas mileage is ok being a previous V-8 owner. THe Hemi definetly adds a little more pizazz to the enitre package. Its fast and responsive on an open highway! We love it!! There are many more options, too many to name but all in all... WE HAVE THEM ALL!!! AND WE LOVE IT!!

  • Get the Hemi - 2005 Dodge Durango

I had owned a 2002 Durango for three years. The 2005 Model blows this away. The Hemi has so much power that I was doing 75 mph at 1900 rpm. My best advice is get all the bells and whistles, youll love it. Much more roomier than the 2002. I had my dealer take 4,000 off sticker and 4,000 rebate. What a deal. Fold up seats are easier to use.

Great SUV to drive, has a tight turning radius and a very comfortable ride. The power of the HEMI is amazing (HEMI was not an option for this rating) and the acceleration gets you going. The DVD Player would do better with a few controls mounted lower like the AV ports and a parental lock on the player. The wireless headphones are so-so. The fold down seating is not flat and could use some work. So far we really like itÂ…except the 13.5 MPG in the city.
