This Year's Model Updates:

Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
Cons:
  • Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

I love the new "Hemi" Durango Ltd. The only things I would change about it would be the front fender and hood design, and on the interior, the length of seatbelts in the front. Im a big guy,but have never had a problem with the length of seatbelts in any vehicle except this one. Overall, Dodge hit a homerun with the "Hemi" Durango.

Ii have to say im quiet impressed considering how picky I am when it comes to a vehicle.I was pretty amazed at how easy it was for me to conform from a smaller SUV to a larger one. The handling is great and I feel very safe towing my family around in this vehicle. I also love the fact that the ride is very smooth compared to many other SUVs where its very bumpy. Overall Im happy with the purchase

First of all, wheres the "5.7" option in the list at the start of this page? Fit and finish under "cons"? please, thats old news, if you didnt know you where in a Dodge you would think it was something built in Japan! they have come a long way, it simply amazing what Chrysler has done with this truck, just go drive one, and then compare the price with anything else in or near its class, unbeatable! dont even get me started on the HEMI, man this thing is fast!

We need a large SUV with the kids and all . We purcased a Ford Expedition in late 2003 and it was the worst quality vehicle we have ever owned. After being in the shop more than home we traded the beast for a Dodge Durango. I must say the quality is perfect. The Dodge performs well and is a joy to drive. Living in New England its all about handling in snow and adverse weather conditions and its a true winner. On a recent long trip my kids didnt complain about comfort and truly enjoyed the superior DVD system (Fords didnt work most of the time). If youre looking for an SUV dont buy until you check out the Durango!

This is my 3rd Durango and I love it. The interior design is far superior to the Durangos of the past. Love the look of the vehicle from the front, but the rear leaves little to be desired. Ive always had the upgraded V8 engine and I must say the HEMI hasnt brought the power that I expected. Although the response is good its just not what Ive been accustomed to in previous models.

Love it, very quiet interior. Engine has very good range at any rpm. Very, very comfortable interior, excellent stere, needs more storage space, however. I have had owned Dodge vehicles for a long time, quality has improved on each vehicle.

This is my 2nd Durango. For some reason, this one far outperforms my previous one. It is comfortable, reliable, quiet, fast. Even the mpg is not too bad - 16-18 city. There is not one thing I dislike about this vehicle except that I did not order steering wheel radio controls. Best vehicle I have owned.

  • Great improvement - 2005 Dodge Durango

Excellent improvement over previous Durango. I traded a 2003 R/T and there is no comparison. Smooth ride, good seat comfort, great power, great handling, has every feature I could want on a vehicle. Poor MPG, but this was expected and its no worse than comparable vehicles. The Hemi is worth the price. Still havent warmed up to the front end styling, but the comfort and features overshadow any negatives. The back seat (second row) should be roomier for this size vehicle. Great vehicle overall.
