Overview & Reviews
As the most recent addition to the Dodge truck lineup, the Durango makes quite an entry. Offering the most cargo space in its class, along with eight-passenger seating and three-and-a-half tons of towing capacity, the Durango is the most versatile sport-utility on the market.

So disappointed... - 1998 Dodge Durango
By nocallady - March 8 - 4:58 pmI am sad to say I am selling my Durango. When I bought it, it was love at first sight, but that has now faded after a series of problems. Brakes & tires needed replacing after 30K,the rear differential at 50K, and now, due to a slovenly oil change shop, just replaced the transfer case because they left the plug off. After a month, the chain had overheated and was rattling around loose tearing up everything inside. For a vehicle that had such a butch appearance, it really is a sickly 90lb weakling.

My 4 year old is just fine. . - 1998 Dodge Durango
By taass - March 3 - 11:21 pmWhen you buy a 4X4 V8 SUV, dont complain at the pump.I use my Durango, but dont abuse it - and pamper it with regular service.Ball joints were my fault.Lesson learned: GREASE JOBS ARE IMPORTANT!!!56,000 miles and running strong. No problems at all. Runs great, looks great.Take care of your car (any car) and itll last you forever.Theres always the occasionaly lemon (yes, even Toyotas and Honas), so dont let one review deter you.Its a great car.

Gas guzzling facade with versatility - 1998 Dodge Durango
By EZYRACER - February 27 - 11:51 amFor transporting a family on vacation, and for hauling cargo, -- its a dream. Its fold-down 2nd and 3rd row seats provides versatility. However its 13mpg deters it from daily driving. Its interior are well designed with kids in mine, as well as hauling 30 bags of groceries. Its got power to spare but the ride is truck-like. Dont expect it to stop in wet weather, --- otherwise its a great SUV for the money. No major mechanical defects or problem transpired during my ownership.

The good and the bad. - 1998 Dodge Durango
By cjp - February 27 - 12:03 amLots of problems with the CV Joints. To check the computer on the vehicle took five minutes, cost $86. The rotors warped in 10k, just freeway driving. Most disappointing thing about my Dodge is the Dealerships I have to deal with to get minor repairs or just regular services. 4 wheel system whether it is in "Full Time" or "Part Time" is bad in winter snow, easy to spin out on this truck.
