Overview & Reviews
Two trim levels have been added -- SXT and SLT Adventurer. The SXT features roof rails, running boards and side moldings. The Adventurer includes a Thule roof rack, side steps, slush mats, cargo liner and organizer and unique wheels. Cloth heated seats are standard on all models this year (except the Limited, which sticks with leather heated seats). A full-screen navigation system is newly available.
- Strong V8 engines, agile handling, excellent ride quality, capable off-road, lots of cargo capacity, simple controls.
- Lousy mileage, sloppy fit and finish, needs more second-row legroom and storage, no stability control or parking sensors.

HEMI Power - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Robert L67548 - September 17 - 8:16 pmFirst of all, wheres the "5.7" option in the list at the start of this page? Fit and finish under "cons"? please, thats old news, if you didnt know you where in a Dodge you would think it was something built in Japan! they have come a long way, it simply amazing what Chrysler has done with this truck, just go drive one, and then compare the price with anything else in or near its class, unbeatable! dont even get me started on the HEMI, man this thing is fast!

Goodbye Expedition - 2005 Dodge Durango
By David Horvath - August 31 - 5:46 pmWe need a large SUV with the kids and all . We purcased a Ford Expedition in late 2003 and it was the worst quality vehicle we have ever owned. After being in the shop more than home we traded the beast for a Dodge Durango. I must say the quality is perfect. The Dodge performs well and is a joy to drive. Living in New England its all about handling in snow and adverse weather conditions and its a true winner. On a recent long trip my kids didnt complain about comfort and truly enjoyed the superior DVD system (Fords didnt work most of the time). If youre looking for an SUV dont buy until you check out the Durango!

Improving with Age - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Imjamie2 - March 21 - 10:00 amThis is my 3rd Durango and I love it. The interior design is far superior to the Durangos of the past. Love the look of the vehicle from the front, but the rear leaves little to be desired. Ive always had the upgraded V8 engine and I must say the HEMI hasnt brought the power that I expected. Although the response is good its just not what Ive been accustomed to in previous models.

I love my Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Sondra - January 7 - 8:03 amThis is my 2nd Durango. For some reason, this one far outperforms my previous one. It is comfortable, reliable, quiet, fast. Even the mpg is not too bad - 16-18 city. There is not one thing I dislike about this vehicle except that I did not order steering wheel radio controls. Best vehicle I have owned.

Lovin my Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango
By Roff - August 15 - 8:06 pmSo far? This Dodge is great. I have had fun, feel safe and can only complain that the radio on/off switch is too easy to turn off with my hand on accident. Great truck!

Hats off to Dodge for the 05 Durango - 2005 Dodge Durango
By GeneF - June 11 - 5:03 amAfter driving a 2003 Explorer for the past two years, the Durango is a dream vehicle. There is no comparison in the engine power, the Hemi is unsurpassed, and the quality and comfort of the interior is absolutly superior to Explorer. Im averaging 17.4 mi per gallon which is the same as the lesser engine in the Explorer. I took a real hit on the trade for the Explorer, but it was well worth it. You must test drive the 05 Durango with 5.7L Hemi.

GET ALL THE OPTIONS INCLUDING THE HEMI - 2005 Dodge Durango
By DAYCAREMOM24 - December 24 - 12:16 pmWere previous Durango owners but the 05 Limited Hemi is a complete turnaround from the 03 we owned. Its comfortable, its roomy, the DVD is a must have. The Navigation is awesome, the Sirius Satelite is great, and Dodge even pays for the 1st year! The Hemi is AWD. We have all of the options and dont regret it one bit. It rides smooth, handles great, looks sharp and WE LOVE IT! The gas mileage is ok being a previous V-8 owner. THe Hemi definetly adds a little more pizazz to the enitre package. Its fast and responsive on an open highway! We love it!! There are many more options, too many to name but all in all... WE HAVE THEM ALL!!! AND WE LOVE IT!!
