  • 5.7 Hemi is a lemon Crysler will not recall or rebate replacement - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

We have a 2004 durango slt 5.7L with a hole in the block. This car was extremly well maintained. The car eats roters, has had never ending electrical problems and spun a main bearing at 160000 mils. It has never missed an oil change, the oil comes out as clean as it was put in. Crysler will not recall this problem or rebait the replacement. After serching for a replacement I have found that this seems to be a very very common problem with the 5.7, 4.7, and the 6.0.. Do not Buy A Dodge Durango or any Mopar Hemi with out asking or resurching this motor. I have lost 8,000.00 dollers on this vehical. I will never buy a Mopar again!

  • GREAT SUV IF A/C WOULD WORK - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

WHEN WE FIRST GOT THE DURANGO IT WAS GREAT EXCEPT FOR THE GAS MILEAGE. THEN A MONTH AGO THE A/C STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR WHEN WE WOULD START IT UP. WHEN WE WOULD GET WHERE WE WERE GOING IT WOULD START BLOWING COOL AIR (NOT COLD). WE WERE TOLD THAT THE HEMI AND A/C DO NOT GET ALONG AND THERE WOULD BE AN COMPUTER UPDATE SOON. WE GOT THE COMPUTER UP DATE A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT DID NOT WORK. DON BOHN DODGE HAS BEEN GREAT BUT DEALING WITH CHRYSLER IS A NIGHTMARE. I WROTE CHRYSLER SINCE THE DURANGO HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FIVE TIMES AND THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP. THEY DONT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY. I SO DIGUSTED ALL I WANT IS MY MONEY BACK.

  • Get extended warranty - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

I bought my Hemi brand new. loved the drive, my son loved the DVD option, yet 500 miles after my warranty ran out major problems, all the dash lights, turn signals & gauges turn off when I turn blinkers on. Good thing its a lease & I will turn back over in few months because they say nothing is wrong with it!

  • windows - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

This is one of the worst vehicles I have owned. You cannot open the windows with other people in the car, it feels like your head is going to explode. Sometimes it feels and sounds like a helicopter is hovering you. If you are by yourself you cannot have more than 1 window open because its the same thing and for $36000. I expect a little more from a car and also this problem has been going on for at least 5 years from the reviews Ive read while researching this. Shame on Dodge this is inexcusable.

  • NICE BUT...get something else - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

Dodge has done something with this 4wd that I just cannot understand-All this money poured into the new design and an underbody skid plate that is lower than anything under the vehicle and FLAT! READ- It acts as a shovel- not turned up in the forward portion and only about 6 inches off the ground-UNBELIEVABLE! Dont think about taking this thing off road- you will high-center in a second on even the slightest rutted roads!

  • Horrible Blind Spots! Bad with Car Seats - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

The A-frame on the Durango is horribly placed. It causes a huge blind spot for the driver. They say it is for better stability during a rollover accident, which you will definitely need because you cant see where youre driving! It is also an extremely tight fit for carseats. If it will be placed behind either of the front seats, you will need to pull that seat very far forward to make it fit (which doesnt make for an easy ride up front.) Not a problem unless you have 2 kids in carseats! My Durango depriciated $25,000 in 2 years! Never again will I buy one of these and I am making sure everyone I know hears about it.

  • MONTHLY PROBLEM-4 IN 4 MONTHS - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

PURCH JAN04 HAS NOT STARTED 3X,TOWED TO DEALER. OVERHEAD AND RADIO LIGHTS FLASH OFF AND ON, UNABLE TO TURN RADIO OFF OR CHANGE STATIONS WHILE CAR IS RUNNING. 1ST DEFECTIVE BATTERY, 2ND- OPEN GROUND,3RD-NOTHING READING OUT ON COMPUTER. AT PRESENT TOWED TO DEALER- WOULD NOT START AGAIN WAITING FOR ANOTHER EXCUSE OR THEY WILL PLAY STUPID "CAN NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM."

  • Disappointing - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

What sold me was the smooth luxury car like ride unlike many other SUVs. Lots of electrical problems with this one from the very begining. Latest episode left my wife stranded due to failure to start and had to hitch a ride to the airport. Had just gotten it out of the shop for other issues. It is back there again!Poor fuel economy.

  • Stay Away - 2004 Dodge Durango
    By -

Don’t buy this truck. This is the worst SUV! I am a big Dodge nut but this is my last Dodge! I had a 2001 quad cab Dakota better then this thing and a 95 Dodge Avenger. All brand new. Very cheap interior and poor design. I had check engine light on and throttle light. Radio will not respond to from time to time. Rotors are warped! This truck is well maintained, better than new! Only have 15000 miles on it. If you want an SUV, look somewhere else.
