  • Disappointing Performance - 2013 Dodge Dart

I have the Dart Limited with a 1.4L Turbo Engine, Manual Transmission. Overall the quality of this car is very good both inside and out. Some road noise at higher speeds, but the ride is smooth. Touch screen & GPS are great, it even finds lowest gas prices in the area. OK gas mileage, I currently get 29city/35highway. That is less than other cars in this class. Used both regular gas and plus, not much difference. And if you have the A/C on you lose even more mpg & the engine gets REALLY bogged down, like towing a boat. Manual transmission is OK, 1st & 2nd gear are a bit rough and 3-6 are fine. Clutch was sticking to the floor, dealer says nothing wrong with it.

The paint job was aweful. Thin and scratched easy. Had 2 major defects the dealer should have spotted before putting it on the lot. No paint below the passanger door just bare metal, and a big half dollar sized swirl mark. The buttons felt cheap and "wobbled" and the touch screen back up camera was cut off at the lower part of the screen and rolled up to the top part. Like an old t.v. with horizontal hold off. (Kids ask your folks). The seating was just o.k. and on longer trips somewhat uncomfortable. The brakes work by being on or off. No happy medium and this is bad. The duel exhaust rattled when you turned the car off like it was hitting something. Gas mileage was just o.k.

Ive got 5000 miles on this car and have had nothing but issues since day one. There has been a consistent rattle from the front doors that has yet to be fixed. My headliner is sagging and fraying. My interior brake light is falling down. The transmission dropped at 4000 miles. The dome light fell off and had to be taped up. My right rear turn signal chooses when it wants to work. This car has just been a piece of crap.

  • rallye 1.4 auto stick poor fuel mileage - 2013 Dodge Dart

well the first 800 miles of the dash showing 30mpg resulting in a hand calculated mpg of 21.4 mpg on my first three tanks, my truck that i traded in is more fuel efficient pulled 14.5mpg in my brutal commute, leaving my 08 king ranch and moving to the dodge costed me an extra 8400$ gain in loan which stipulated 32mpg would of had that loss consumed in 40k less miles, now with the 22mpg i should see the pay off at about 90k miles i have to drive the car before im left with 5 years of higher monthly loan payments, not worth it, not trying to rant either, fuel mileage really does no good for the car, radio quality poor like bad Bluetooth device but from all inputs fm,xm,cd

  • Continued engine problems-8th trip to dealership - 2013 Dodge Dart
    By -

Ive owned my 2013 Dart just over 2 months now and have had to take it back to the dealership 8 times for temperature sensor problems with the engine. No fix available. Dealership, Tyson Motors in Shorewood,IL, will no longer document the check engine light re-setting in their computer system. Outside air temp 24 degrees out when check engine light came on this 8th time. Again, only taking it in now once per week to re-set the fault code otherwise it would be daily occurrence given the colder temperatures in Chicago.

  • Lots of problems - 2013 Dodge Dart

Bought it new in 2013. Has a brake recall and its been months, still no parts. Dash keeps flashing saying service airbag system, passenger seatbelt unbuckled(and they are!) Blower motor went out. Senors going out. Love the style but now I wish I had bought a different vehicle. Oh and when I drive on a rough driveway/road the whole car rattles

Bought new... Never drove like new. The car has lag, and it is a six speed. Without master craft glacier grip II tires in the snow the traction and handling is horrible. The car has only 48,000 miles on it and already have had to replace cooling hose and alternator. The head lights are very poor and the car was made extremely cheap. In comparison to other economy cars like the ford fiesta and Subaru impreza the dart has a ton of work to do. The gear ratio is too close to be a fast car. Gears one, two, and three are very close. I would not recommend this car to anyone and it is a shame that my family and I have had such a bad experience (we were dodge fans). Dodge needs to adapt to the change in technology and defiantly performance.
