The 2006 Dodge Charger is a new full-size sedan but shares many of its mechanical components with the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum.

Pros:
  • Striking looks for a sedan, Hemi V8, firm handling, refined ride, roomy and comfortable interior, reasonably priced.
Cons:
  • Looks plain from behind, some low-grade interior plastics, hefty curb weight.

  • Cons? - 2006 Dodge Charger

In the cons section of the review Edmunds stated lousy fuel economy. Im averaging 17: not lousy. Intrusive stability control? ESP (electronic stability progam)can be partially or totaly deactivated. If the program is not deactivated then it will function the way it should. When totaly deactivated (pushing the ESP OFF button and holding for 5 seconds) the car is a pure, driftable beast. The only negative is the cars weight (almost 4800 lbs)

This car has it all. Looks, performance, and comfort. I purchased it without test driving it. I just loved the look. Oh my God when I got in for the first time I was blown away. This car has the power of a muscle car, and the comfort of the Chrysler 300. Everyone takes notice on the highway. Great job Dodge.

Being 54 yrs old I can remember the fun of the Muscle Car Era...I remember my 69 Olds 442 and I can remember sitting at a red light watching the gas gauge vibrate towards E. After raising my family and going through years of dissapointment with cars Ive owned and suffering through the mini-van stage I have finally found a car that is not only made for a man but is a blast to drive. The high output V6 is exactly that, and so far the mileage is excellent. When I look out at it it seems to be saying "Drive Me". Im sure the Hemi would give me flash backs to days gone by, but the V6 has all the power I would ever need with the economy I want. Take one out for a test drive and have fun !

I love the fact I get 25-26 mpg with combined highway and city driving. The Hemi engine has alot of pep for a 4,000 lb vehicle, but am addicted to power so more would be better. Aftermarket upgrades for the engine are plentiful so hp upgrades are relatively easy. Smooth ride, with lots of features and the sound system is flat out great for a stock system.

I have owned this car for a year and a half. It goes like the muscle cars of the 60s.The gas mileage isnt great, but , what do you expect? The car has great handling and a perfect ride, not too soft. This is a great car.

I bought the Charger Daytona R/T. I cant say enough about this car. Absolutely beautiful and amazing to drive!

I love driving my Charger the ride is smoothe, it has quick pep, and very roomy inside. The one thing that bothers me is the fuel economy, it was rated at 17 mpg city but I get 13. Otherwise this car is the perfect car for a mom that likes muscle! Im having a blast!

  • Lots of Hype, Little Substance - 2006 Dodge Charger

I got my 06 Charger Daytona with high hopes, and am very disappointed. The car is a joy to drive with its quiet interior, and delicious ride. The nav system and bluetooth give the interior a modern feel. The exhaust note is great when you hit the gas, but quiet when you cruise. Thats it for the good news. The car is sluggish at low speeds, due to its 4,000 lb. weight and 2.82:1 gear. The MDS system doesnt work well past 60 mph. Mileage is a dismal 17 hwy, 10 city, & the rated 350 HP from the bogus hemi (its a "semi- hemi", not a real hemi) is a joke. Not recommended.

18 hours after I bought it it was in the shop with a defective oil pump. If it werent for the immediate response of the dealership Id have been really pissed. Now, I have electrical problems and different warning lights keep coming on and off. If it werent for that Id absolutely love the car. It has a great ride, decent handling for a big car and surprisingly tight fit and finish. The sheetmetal is particularly flawless.
