Overview & Reviews
The 2006 Dodge Charger is a new full-size sedan but shares many of its mechanical components with the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum.
- Striking looks for a sedan, Hemi V8, firm handling, refined ride, roomy and comfortable interior, reasonably priced.
- Looks plain from behind, some low-grade interior plastics, hefty curb weight.

Much better than the imports - 2006 Dodge Charger
By Robert Viands - February 18 - 2:26 pmBought the SXT with Sirius, 6 speaker radio, and the 18" wheels. Car is a lot of fun to drive. When gas was spiking at $3 a gallon, I was looking at the Accords and Altimas, but nothing about them wowed me. The Charger definitely thrills me with its big vehicle ride, smooth handling, and agressive looks. There is nothing wrong with buying the V6 version (SE/SXT). I have plenty of power, have even done 100 on the freeway and its very smooth. Ive rented a Chrysler 300, and the Charger has a similar ride, solid. Definitely glad I bought this car instead of an import. If you buy the Charger, you are getting the luxury ride of the 300 for less money.

Luxury Plus Muscle - 2006 Dodge Charger
By MrG - February 10 - 6:13 pmThis car has the smooth ride of a luxury sedan with the responsiveness of a sports car. Go for the R/T if you like to pull away from the pack.

Cons? - 2006 Dodge Charger
By Wart Hog - February 5 - 9:46 pmIn the cons section of the review Edmunds stated lousy fuel economy. Im averaging 17: not lousy. Intrusive stability control? ESP (electronic stability progam)can be partially or totaly deactivated. If the program is not deactivated then it will function the way it should. When totaly deactivated (pushing the ESP OFF button and holding for 5 seconds) the car is a pure, driftable beast. The only negative is the cars weight (almost 4800 lbs)

My Dream Car - 2006 Dodge Charger
By kcp4921 - January 31 - 3:43 amThis car has it all. Looks, performance, and comfort. I purchased it without test driving it. I just loved the look. Oh my God when I got in for the first time I was blown away. This car has the power of a muscle car, and the comfort of the Chrysler 300. Everyone takes notice on the highway. Great job Dodge.

Wow !! - 2006 Dodge Charger
By MrMash - January 24 - 6:03 amBeing 54 yrs old I can remember the fun of the Muscle Car Era...I remember my 69 Olds 442 and I can remember sitting at a red light watching the gas gauge vibrate towards E. After raising my family and going through years of dissapointment with cars Ive owned and suffering through the mini-van stage I have finally found a car that is not only made for a man but is a blast to drive. The high output V6 is exactly that, and so far the mileage is excellent. When I look out at it it seems to be saying "Drive Me". Im sure the Hemi would give me flash backs to days gone by, but the V6 has all the power I would ever need with the economy I want. Take one out for a test drive and have fun !

06 Charger R/T - 2006 Dodge Charger
By Tim - December 2 - 6:10 pmI love the fact I get 25-26 mpg with combined highway and city driving. The Hemi engine has alot of pep for a 4,000 lb vehicle, but am addicted to power so more would be better. Aftermarket upgrades for the engine are plentiful so hp upgrades are relatively easy. Smooth ride, with lots of features and the sound system is flat out great for a stock system.

2006 Charger R/T - 2006 Dodge Charger
By Gene Herbert - November 21 - 3:03 amI have owned this car for a year and a half. It goes like the muscle cars of the 60s.The gas mileage isnt great, but , what do you expect? The car has great handling and a perfect ride, not too soft. This is a great car.

I love this car - 2006 Dodge Charger
By Debbie - November 10 - 7:20 pmI love driving my Charger the ride is smoothe, it has quick pep, and very roomy inside. The one thing that bothers me is the fuel economy, it was rated at 17 mpg city but I get 13. Otherwise this car is the perfect car for a mom that likes muscle! Im having a blast!
