The 2008 Dodge Charger receives a freshened interior, including a redesigned instrument panel and center console, new cloth seat material and upgraded soft-touch surfaces. Other changes include a new SXT trim level and revised standard content. There are new options as well, including front seat side airbags, updated radios, an optional MyGIG infotainment system and Sirius Backseat TV. On the outside, the Charger has new wheels and optional xenon HID headlamps. Finally, the Charger, like all Chrysler products, benefits from a new limited lifetime powertrain warranty.

Pros:
  • Sporty car moves with sedan utility, strong V8 performance, affordable price.
Cons:
  • Heavy curb weight, coupelike styling hampers rear-seat access and headroom.

  • Warning Lights - 2008 Dodge Charger

Had my 2008 Dodge Charger SE for about 3 years n now Im approaching 100,000 miles, Im having problems with the Electronic Throttle Control warning lights. While driving for a certain amount of time, that light n the traction light comes on. Have changed several things n those lights still come on. Read several reviews n others complain of the same problem. Why isnt this a safety recall because I dont like driving a car that no one can fix.

Fell in love with the car and my only problem then was the hard shift in the transmission. Now not only does it do that all the time but my mpgs have gotten worse. My steering column has gotten stuck while driving around a corner under a bridge which in turn messed up my turn signal lever. Also the sentry key is a joke. New battery every 2 weeks for that thing. not cheap at $8 a piece. The key died and I got stranded over an hour away from home in a small town that had only had a gas station. Talked to dodge about my problems but they wouldnt do anything to help at all. They wanted me to replace my key for $245! Never will I buy from dodge again.

I currently drive a 2008 charger I bought used in August. This car has already had a new transmission and has been in the shop 5 times. I had all my dummy lights come on (which I have pictures of) imediately took it in to have the dealership find no codes. The car at one point was stalling to again find no codes. Currently it is in the shop for kicking, stalling, and occasionly not going in reverse. Just got off the phone with the dealership and again no codes. I dont know what to do. I have already taken it to a different dealership. This is my replacement charger I previously had an 07 that I had to tow to dealership to find out it had frame damage not reported in carfax.

  • Dont get a 3.5 Charger - 2008 Dodge Charger

Transmission mishaps after 30,000 miles. Bumps in between shifts. Numerous trips to dealer for software reinstalls that had no effect on the deteriorating transmission. I hear the R/T with its German made tranny was a lot better. Should have done more research. This transmission is terrible and also the driver has no access to a transmission dipstick. One tech who I have to give some credit too had an idea to make an adjustment to a part of the tranny but I wanted a new transmission as the car was only a year old. Chrysler did not acknowledge there was any real problem. Never Chrysler never again is my motto.

From the outside its not all that bad at first. It reminds me a little of the bat mobile. The gas mileage sucks! There are horrible blind spots! You cant really see out of the back window that well. Looking at it from the outside you would think that you got all the room in the world while being in the car but you dont! Oh and did i mention I have to get gas multiple occasions due the MPG!

  • charge it back... - 2008 Dodge Charger

This car looks as if its going to float with ease, and it is very deceiving! Very nice to look at then you get in it and Wonder "what have I gotten myself into". My 3 yr old pacts more Punch then this car. Maybe they should put the battery back under the hood (LOL) the gas leaves faster than the car actually goes! I wouldnt recommend this vehicle to my enemy! For what you pay its not worth it! Im sorry it is such a let down in performance but the compliments are great. Only if they knew. So to sum it all up the gas miles suck, performance is weak but hey I look good driving it. Guess thats worth it. Not! Let me even out the compliments it has great trunk space. So know its worth it. Not!

  • Proves American Cars are Trash - 2008 Dodge Charger
    By -

So I had a 2008 Charger as a rental from Enterprise (for a month while my 2006 VW Jetta TDI was being repaired). Other than the fact the car is comfortable and rear wheel drive, this car makes me realize that American car makers need to revamp their designs. Pros: -Stock Stereo is pretty darn good -Very comfortable and Roomy -Rear wheel drive can be entertaining Cons: -No power at all. Acceleration is weak -TERRIBLE gas mileage. I spent 250 in a single month with minimal driving I know this is short, but to me, a lack of power and poor MPG is a deal breaker. I would never own this car at current.
