This Year's Model Updates:

The Pacifica is an all-new six-passenger vehicle that combines the attributes of a wagon, minivan and SUV.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, gets expensive when you add high-end options, fussy climate and radio controls.

We recently bought an 04 Pacifica. It is very pleasing to look at inside and out but there are some definite issues with the car. First, 250 hp seems like a lot but it is a bit of a dog with the AWD (15.3 mpg avg to boot, yikes!). Basically it is as fast as the minivan you are probably looking to replace, no better. Second, if you are over 62" pay attention to front seat comfort. The seats are a bit too firm for my tastes and dont go back far enough for me so unfortunately commuting isnt the pleasure I expected. Overall, I think the car is a good value as a used vehicle. Its pleasing on the eye inside and out. It just needs more power and a more comfortable driving position.

The 2004 Pacifica AWD is a very nice vehicle overall, from the fantastic exterior design to the very spacious and comfortable interior. This vehicle has been very reliable and a pleasure to drive for the past two years. This vehicle could have been rated an excellent vehicle by me, if Chrysler would have improved the following areas: Increase engine power add vision system to increase rear-view sight during parking improve awful vanity mirror lighting add durable cover to top of rear bumper to protect it from cargo damage Add identical upgraded 19-inch rim option for spare tire add video screen to dash for front passenger improved difficult 2nd row seating access to 3rd row seating.

There should be a rear air conditioner and there are to many blind spots hard to see behind when backing. GM builds a Cadillac that gets over 20mph in town with a V-8. Poor performance for the mileage on the Pacifica. Will not buy again.

  • Pacifica AWD exceeded our expectations - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

We looked at the Volvo XC90 and the Acura MDX but always came back to the Pacifica. Five star ratings for front and side impact as well as the beutiful look and ride brought us to the dealership. MSRP was $40.2K but got it for $35K. We love it! We find the acceleration more than adequate despite the reviews. The cabin speaks quality and it is extremely quiet at highway speeds. The rear bench folds flat on the cargo floor creating more than enough room. A volvo XC90 or Acura MDX would have costed us over $10k more than what we paid and still no nav system.

Short but sweet: what it lacks in looks on the outside, it more than makes up for with plush appointments on the inside. I was absolutely stunned with the endless list of standard features and beautiful options. And extremely safe too!

  • Pacifica--The car no one knows about!!! - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

The Pacifica has been a grand touring car. I have now owned it for 6 months and have taken numerous trips and used it a great deal around town and also have moved children to college. It is easy to drive, roomy and very comfortable. All the ammenities are ideal for my driving situations. Luxury is the key word for this car. The design, styling and details are amazing. Great job Chrysler! I have spent a lot of time presenting my Pacifica to prospective buyers. I love it and am proud to show others what they are missing.

We just got our pacifica. Tired of vans. Great styling. Extremly comfortable. Every one who sees it loves it. Im really enjoying the car. Could use 300 ponies instead of 250. Like others have said, the power is ok though. Love the german engineering.

I am very pleased with the performance of this car. I have not had a single problem. Quality of workmanship and design is excellent. Handles well on the road and you sit up like a SUV.

  • Chrysler builds a high-end sport wagon - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

The slightly de-contented “base” Premium package plus rebate represents a fairly high-end car for the money (mid-$20s out the door). The extra features in the pricey "Luxury" package are not missed – the base car still has a lot of bells and whistles. Substantial body and chassis with a hefty feel of quality. Guests are very surprised by such a high-end interior “for a Chrysler.” Only one quality fault so far: both front power seats stopped working after two weeks. Turned out to be a control module; dealer had to special-order the repair part. Overall we really love driving and riding in the car – we hate to take out our minivan or our pickup truck now.
