A convertible joins the PT Cruiser lineup for 2005.

  • Detroit to Key West to Spokane - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

I bought Petey the end of April and in mid-May left metro Detroit for the south end of I-75 by way of stops in Cumberland Falls Kentucky, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Columbus Georgia, Ft Meyers Florida, Key West Florida, St Augustine Florida, Lexington Kentucky and back home. Petey handled like a dream! She was tight on the corners and surefooted in the mountains. She took Daytona Beach very well. The top functioned perfectly. In June Petey and I and a Victrola in the back seat set out for Spokane. Again I couldnt ask for better preformance. Gas mileage varied from 20-25 mpg depending on top up, top down, mountains or plains. Shes quiet both inside and out. Shes a traffic stopper!

  • Its my 2nd PT, but first convertible! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

I had a 2003 Limited Edition Wagon (with sunroof) for only 8 months, until I drove my sisters Z3 Convertible BMW...and fell in love with the open wind! I knew I couldnt afford a BMW, so looked into a PT Vert. I stumbled across a used 2005 Electric Blue model with turbo and fell in love! Its a lot of fun to drive, and oh, the looks you get on the road! Ive had so many compliments, and Id hate to tell you how little money I got it for! I live near the beach, and this year has been the best "cruizin" summer Ive ever had! The turbo has enough pep for around town, and gas mileage is at 25 city/32 hwy...much better than my wagon ever did! And, my husband finally likes to drive it!

Sold Chryslers for 12 years...now at Honda for 1 1/2 years. Had Jeep, Dodge and now the worst PT Convertible. Oil light comes on every other time I start ignition...cannot be fixed after four attempts by two seperate service departments. Smart Glass is not too smart when its cold and we have any type of moisture. Glass freezes and will not go up and down until the car gets warm enough to loosen the windows and worst of all is fuel mileage. Sticker says 19 city/25 highway...hah!!! I baby the gas pedal or drive like a madman I get 18 in the summer and 17 in the winter. Sorry Chrysler, I have had it with your poor quality, poor fuel mileage and terrible resale value. Go Honda Go

I have had no problem with my PT Convertible for the week that Ive had it. The Boot goes on easily, the Smart Glass windows are fantastic. The Factory Stereo is very good. The Sport Bar definitely cuts down the wind noise. The center console is nice. Easy access to back seat. The trunk access is a bit inconvenient, but the styling, the ride, the engine, and the rest of the features make up for the trunk.

Car just makes you feel good when you drive it and no matter how many there are each on turn heads. It does not look like every other car on the road. I like that.

  • Pretty Terrific - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

After two years and 50k miles, the car has never been in the shop other than for routine maintenance. My understanding is that this "american" car is made in mexico. I definitely reccomend this car, based on price, versatility and reliability.
