This Year's Model Updates:

A convertible joins the PT Cruiser lineup for 2005.

Pros:
  • Distinctive styling inside and out, spacious cabin with multiconfigurable rear seats, smooth ride, spirited acceleration on turbo models, reasonable pricing.
Cons:
  • Acceleration can be sluggish with base engine, awkward seating position for shorter drivers, unimpressive fuel economy.

  • Disappointed with Dodge - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

I bought the pt cruiser because I liked the cute body style. I also trusted Dodge that it would last and hold its value. I was wrong. It did not last, the brakes were bad in just a few weeks, the plugs and wires wore out quickly, and now the timing chain has slipped, which is a great cost to me. The worst part of the deal is that Its value has decreased so badly that I cannot get a decent trade in value on any car. I feel I was ripped off and sold a car at an exorbatant price, that the dealer knew would not be worth its owed value when I wanted to trade. I am disappointed and feel the car industry has lived up to its reputation of over charging and over-representing used cars.

  • LOVE MY 2ND PT CRUISER!!! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

I ordered one of the very first 2001 PT Cruisers in April 2000 from Berry Chrysler in Corsicana Texas, it came in Dec. 2000,a patriot blue limited edition. Loved it! Just had to have one of the convertibles and I purchased the 1st one Berrys sold on June 18, 2004. I will never own any car other than a PT Cruiser, I am completely sold on these vehicles, drives great, looks great, what more could you ask for?

This is a great car, its my moms but I drive it most of the time because my car (1985 for ltd Crown Vic) is not reliable and has terrible gas mileage the worst. It is very fun to drive and my mom loves the car, but I keep it up. It is a very easy car to wash and wax untill you get to the lower grill in front. The engine that it has is only in 3% of pt cruisers so its cool. The tires for the 18 inch wheels are expensive but look soooo amazing.

Too wide of a turning radius. Underpowered. Hard acceleration into traffic hurts mileage. Cant carry much with back seats in use. Otherwise I like it!

I HAVE NOT BEEN THIS EXCITED ABOUT A CAR SINCE I WAS 18 AND BOUGHT MY VERY FIRST MUSTANG. THAT WAS IN 1967. MY DAILY COMMUTE IS JUST OVER 100 MILES, AND WITH MY PT CRUISER CONVERTIBLE, I ACTUALLY ENJOY THE DRIVE. THE SPEED AND PICKUP GETS ME THROUGH TRAFFIC WITH SUCH EASE. AND THE "OVERSIZE" RETRO STYLE MAKES ME FEEL WELL PROTECTED IN TRAFFIC. I JUST WANT TO SAY...I LOVE MY CRUISER.

I got my convertible last August. Have never been happier with a car purchase than ever before. Love seeing the heads turn as everyone else does - especially like that mines BLACK with a BLACK top - looks like a gangsters car from the 30s... SNAZZY. Being in LA, its such a pleasure to be able to put the top down almost 365 days a year... Even the base model includes everything I need, altho maybe Ill upgrade to a turbo later on down the road...

  • Tons of Fun! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Traded in my 94 4 Runner for a 2005 PT Cruiser GT Turbo in Cool Vanilla with a khaki top. WOW! I Love it! It is solid, fun to drive - makes me wake up hoping each day is nice enough to put the top down! This model has a lot of power so it takes some getting used to in pulling out from a stop-one day I over- corrected. Not used to all that pep. Any complaints I have are minor. Its hard to grab the seatbelts from behind the seats, there are visibility issues - but overall I couldnt be happier with this cool car!

Drove 800 miles 1 week after getting, was as comfortable as my bigger jeep. People comment on how much they love it everytime l take it on the road. Everyone says WOW. I have the plum convertible and I love the color. It looks it looks a lot more expensive than it was.

Bought at the beach and first thing we did was cruise PCH with the top down. One of the most memorable rides I have ever had and listening to the Beach Boys too. It is classic in styling, comfortable in driving, and heart rate raising in cruising. I am in love with this car.
