Overview & Reviews
A convertible joins the PT Cruiser lineup for 2005.
- Distinctive styling inside and out, spacious cabin with multiconfigurable rear seats, smooth ride, spirited acceleration on turbo models, reasonable pricing.
- Acceleration can be sluggish with base engine, awkward seating position for shorter drivers, unimpressive fuel economy.

CRUISIN TOPLESS - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By WHANNA - July 7 - 10:00 amI HAVE NOT BEEN THIS EXCITED ABOUT A CAR SINCE I WAS 18 AND BOUGHT MY VERY FIRST MUSTANG. THAT WAS IN 1967. MY DAILY COMMUTE IS JUST OVER 100 MILES, AND WITH MY PT CRUISER CONVERTIBLE, I ACTUALLY ENJOY THE DRIVE. THE SPEED AND PICKUP GETS ME THROUGH TRAFFIC WITH SUCH EASE. AND THE "OVERSIZE" RETRO STYLE MAKES ME FEEL WELL PROTECTED IN TRAFFIC. I JUST WANT TO SAY...I LOVE MY CRUISER.

HOT CAR BABY - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By pt cucci - July 2 - 10:00 amI got my convertible last August. Have never been happier with a car purchase than ever before. Love seeing the heads turn as everyone else does - especially like that mines BLACK with a BLACK top - looks like a gangsters car from the 30s... SNAZZY. Being in LA, its such a pleasure to be able to put the top down almost 365 days a year... Even the base model includes everything I need, altho maybe Ill upgrade to a turbo later on down the road...

Tons of Fun! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Susan Skinner - June 27 - 11:16 pmTraded in my 94 4 Runner for a 2005 PT Cruiser GT Turbo in Cool Vanilla with a khaki top. WOW! I Love it! It is solid, fun to drive - makes me wake up hoping each day is nice enough to put the top down! This model has a lot of power so it takes some getting used to in pulling out from a stop-one day I over- corrected. Not used to all that pep. Any complaints I have are minor. Its hard to grab the seatbelts from behind the seats, there are visibility issues - but overall I couldnt be happier with this cool car!

Wild Thing - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Wilder Thing - May 26 - 10:00 amBought at the beach and first thing we did was cruise PCH with the top down. One of the most memorable rides I have ever had and listening to the Beach Boys too. It is classic in styling, comfortable in driving, and heart rate raising in cruising. I am in love with this car.

It has it where it needs it - TURBO - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By jtdev - May 12 - 12:33 pmLove the little car. So much HP and speed. Seats are too firm and center console could have been designed better, but overall, fantastic little car.

What a blast! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Mark - April 27 - 7:13 pmI was skeptical and was talked into this car by my fiancee. She wanted a convertible and for our price range (<30K) it hit the mark, especially after rebates and decent finance terms. As soon as we hit the road, we instantly fell in love with this car.In inconsideration that we own a 2003 Infinity I35, I like driving the PT more. I was used to having a 1.8L German turbocharged engine under my right foot - this engine is equally as responsive and quick. The 2.4L turbo is a must and the leather interior makes it a bit more refined "toy" car. I hope she likes the I35. Ill be taking the PT to work!

Absolutely problem free - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By White Rhino Chick - April 21 - 10:26 amI have had absolutely no problems with this vehicle. I just at had to replace the axle shaft but that was the first major thing to go wrong with this vehicle. It gets 32 mpg and I have changed the oil and rotated the tires every 3,000 miles. Highly recommend this car if you cant afford something like a Hybrid!
