Overview & Reviews
A convertible joins the PT Cruiser lineup for 2005.
- Distinctive styling inside and out, spacious cabin with multiconfigurable rear seats, smooth ride, spirited acceleration on turbo models, reasonable pricing.
- Acceleration can be sluggish with base engine, awkward seating position for shorter drivers, unimpressive fuel economy.

One Solid PT - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Lizz - May 5 - 2:10 pmMy Cruiser has been excellent. The car handles well, hugs the curves, and has a solid feel with nothing cheap or tinny about it. Its an excellent value for an economy car. The interior has a quality look and feel. The exterior has the most beautiful paint job ("inferno red"). The cars finish looks almost liquid. This is one of the best value cars for the money. Its been a pleasure to drive.

It Fun and Practical - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Ed Morrison - May 4 - 12:00 pmWe are a 2 PT family! Love the styling and the turbo makes all the difference in the world in performance. Its fun and practical for a convertible. We love our 2003 sedan and the 2005 convertible with the turbo is a great addition to the rolling stock.

His and Hers Cruisers - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Richard Howard - April 27 - 5:33 pmThis is our second PT. My wife loves hers so much that I thought Id try one, too. Formerly a Jeep Wrangler driver. Love the convertible aspect of the Wrangler, but it took 15-20 minutes to convert it. With the PT, its one touch of a button and 10 seconds. Love it, love it, love it!

Luv My PT Cruiser - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Cheryl A McDuffie - April 11 - 8:26 pmIve been exited about my PT Cruiser before I even purchased. After purchasing I have experienced nothing more but pure enjoyment with comfort, ride and dependability. I cannot stop loving the Classic look of the PT Cruiser and I still enjoy the looks I get from other people while sporting my car. I purchased the top of the line the PT Cruiser Limited Edition in Cranbury, with top of line "wheels" as well, and I have received many, many compliments about what a "nice" car it is!! Im very happy although I must say.... I enjoy putting the kids in the back seat with the tinted windows and no one can see in. I enjoy people asking me about my PT Cruiser. My mother loves my PT Cruiser!!!!!!!!!!!

Classy Silver Convertible with verve - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By amerigo88 - April 7 - 5:30 amDriving this convertible for 3 weeks now. Took 1,000 mile trip second week. MPG fluctuates a lot, but looks like will be close to 22 city/29 hwy. Ive seen 21 low and 40(!)high so far. Top is almost always down and a/c off. Only hiccup was fuel gauge dropped to dead empty for about 15 minutes, but no problems since. Trunk setup is surprisingly roomy and stooping is not as bad as I expected. My girls act like the back seat is in a roller coaster-fun. Turning circle a bit wide. Haggled dealer into AM/FM/CD/MP3 player to replace AM/FM/Cassette due to some bait and switch resentment. Glad I did. Base audio sounds rather muddy, though. 70 mph with top down and windows up is fine on freeway.

Worlds Best Kept Secret - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Pete Rackett - April 3 - 12:43 pmI bought the PT Cruiser because I was looking for a car with van capabilities but not a van appearance or van handling. I commute 150 miles round trip daily and the PT Cruiser is still a fun drive and easy handling vehicle. The stick shift gives more than enough get up and go and it can carry a huge load with the two back seats removed.

love it - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By BethThor - March 26 - 3:20 amThe only complaint is some minor whirring and whislte from the engine at times. Probably the turbo pressuring up and relieving pressure when coming down. Yee Hah!

A Good Choice - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Mike M. - March 1 - 12:30 pmI havent had my PT for that long but so far I love it. I needed to get a car quickly as my old car died and after a few days of trying to figure out what I could afford I found the PT offered the most for the price. For the mileage and car payment I wanted to be within, I could only afford a used economy car. I got my Certified Used PT with a great warranty and it doesnt feel or look like an economy car. I feel like I am driving something unique, a car that anyone can love; rich or poor, young or old, male or female, and so on. I cant think of any other well priced car which has more appeal and original styling. Corolla, Civic, Cobalt, Focus, Elantra = forgettable.

PT fun!! - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Yvonne - February 25 - 3:50 pmMy last fun car was a BMW M3. It was hard to get in and out of, difficult to shift, impossible for rear passengers, very expensive and not driven very often. The PT GT is a kick to drive, comfortable, versitle, and oh so cute. I wouldnt trade it for anything.
