  • Good Car... Not so good reliability - 1996 Chrysler LHS
    By -

Good car. I like the Infinity Stereo System. Great space on the back seat. Some problems with the engine and front suspension. On reverse it sound and feels a strong knock o hit on the engine. On trips is very good and spacious. The trunk is huge. Great car mileage, better that some small cars. The large size refelcts on a great interior size but on heavy traffic is difficult to move from lane to lane. It is handy and a bit sporty.

Reliability is quite an issue. Anything that goes wrong has to be bought at dealership at an outrageous price. Will never have another one.

Smooth to drive, until the front suspension wears out: needing ball joints, struts, and Bushings.

I traded a 94 Cadillac Seville for this car. The Chrysler has more options than the Cadillac and is much cheaper to operate. Gas milage is about 28- 30mpg on the highway depending on my speed. At 70-75 it usually gets around 27-28 mpg.

  • Great driving car-high maintenance - 1999 Chrysler LHS

I love to drive the LHS as it is very responsive and a lot of power. However, I have spent several thousands of dollars on oxygen sensors (kills the air condition and will not shift gears- go figure), simple fans ($700) which also kill the A/C, The inside door came undone by the plastic at the bottom and it took many hours to get the door open. Two of 4 windows have stopped working and it costs about 400 dollars to fix. Too many maintenance worries- time to go back to foreign made cars.

  • A smooth ride - 1997 Chrysler LHS

Bought this car new. After a short test drive, my wife was hooked! Since that time, we have to date put 94K+ miles on it with little trouble. Car is comfortable and I can ride in the back without any legroom issues. Still gets looks with this body style, too bad Chrysler discontinued it in lieu of the cookie cutter style for its big sedans. Huge trunk, good pickup and handling, great gas mileage (can travel from Minneapolis to Chicago on less than a tank)!

I really like this car overall. It is a pleasure to drive and is very comfortable inside. The power is good and gas mileage acceptable. The mechanicals however leave something to be desired. The A/C has been replaced three times and is currently out of commission. The transmission has been replaced once also. Fix the A/C and transmission and the car would be a 10.

Ive had my LHS a couple months now and so far I love it! I did get a manufacturers recall to replace some bolts on the drivers seat but other than that, so far so good!

  • My wifes favorite car ever - 2000 Chrysler LHS

My wife has owned a Grand Am and a Grand Prix. Both were within 2 years old when purchased and always were in the shop. They both, also, lacked the simple little refinements of the LHS. Everytime I drive the LHS, when allowed, I am pleasantly reassured that I have the best car of the road for styling, dependability, and safety for my wife and my family.

  • Love My LHS - 1997 Chrysler LHS

I love this car. Roomy, comfortable, great gas mileage, trunk space for two sets of clubs INCLUDING carts! Handles like a dream especially in snow and ice. Chrysler had a good thing going with the LHS and botched it by discontinuing it. A comfortable ride for long trips even for the back seat passenger.
